We have just returned from a week at the susesi, this was our first visit to turkey and what a experience.
Hotel- This is a very large complex and there is a fantastic pool area. There are hundreds of sunbeds and no matter what time you go down to the pool you will never struggle to get one.The hotel also provides a complimentry pool towel service so you don't need to take your own.Around the pools and the beach are what i can only describe as summer houses with mattresses and cushions to keep you out of the sun if you wish although we never used one, these did seem very popular. There is also a great aquapark on the complex which was open from 10 till 12 and again from 2 till 4 and the slide sized varied from the plug hole to more sedate slides depending how daring you are. The beach is not great here as it is a grey/brown colour and is quite coarse sand but there is a lovely jetty that leads from the hotel out to sea and has ample matresses on it if you want to get a good tan. There is also activities in the pool if you wish to join in like water polo and pool games but you are never harrassed to join in if you don't want to.There is also a seperate kids pool, kids club and kids playground if you need it.
Rooms- The rooms are very spacious and modern decorated in beiges and pale blue, all mod cons including flat screen tv and huge queen sized beds. The mini bar is included in the all inclusive package and is re-stocked daily. The bathrooms in this hotel are good and because the hotel is new there is no sign of any wear and tear yet.
Food- Well what can i say,the food here is fantastic. The main buffet is huge and there is so much choice. As the majority of the guests in the hotel are russian and ukranian there are a few things you may not eat yourselves for breakfast like olives and salads, but there is also eggs in many varieties and there is also the good old toaster and plenty of cereals if you fancy them.
We had 3 fantastic meals in the steak restaurant-you must have the rock shrimp for starter as they are too die for.We also had a great meal in the chinese restaurant and a lovely meal in the italian. You can visit the restaurants as often as you like during your stay and make the reservation on the morning you want to visit from guest relations.I think that there were more restaurants but we never got time to visit any more we were only there for a week. There is also a snack bar near to the pool which is open from 1230 till 1630 this serves sandwiches, kebabs, burgers and salad. There is also a Carte D'or ice cream parlour which is open for 4 hours a day and this is also included in the all inclusive package.Around the pool area is 3 bars and we found you never had to wait very long to get served and most of the drinks seemed to be branded. There is also many other bars in the complex and loads of sitting areas for you to sit around at night.
Entertainment- At the Susesi they have their own outside stage which played host to the nightly entertainment whilst we were there this included Miss Susesi,Russian acrobat circus,Live bands and a Hip Hop dance act which were all really good. There is also a kids disco nightly although we never saw where that was. There is a fantastic spa which has all the normal treatments and massages available if you want them and a modern fully equipped gym, sauna and of course Turkish bath. The hotel has a games room complete with bowling alley which you have to pay for, this IS NOT included and is quite expensive it worked out to be about £5 per person per game. The main currency in the hotels shops was euros although they did accept turkish lira or dollars if thats what you wanted to pay in.We took at taxi from outside the hotel into Belek town this only took about 5 minutes and found that there was loads of shops there. Most of the shops in Belek seem to sell designer fake goods these included:Football shirts,Sunglasses,Handbags,Shoes and Watches but be careful because they are quites strict with the baggage allowance at Antalaya Airport so if you think you might be splashing out on lots of stuff you might be as well to pay for the extra luggage allowance before you go.
All in all this was a fantastic 5 star hotel that catered for every age group,i would certainly recommend going here to everyone i really can't think of any negatives about the place. It is clean, the staff are brilliant especially with children and the service, food and facilities are all first class.
