“Exceptional & Amazing”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 10, 2011

We were booked to stay 7 nights but have now extended our stay to 10 nights at this fabulous property. It's our first time in Turkey and we picked the Kempinski Belek as our first stop - and we are so very glad we did. A massive never-ending pool, a choice of 5 delifhtful restaurants, an unmatched location on the beach , large excellently serviced rooms - smiles galore from what is a truly warm hospitable team and that little extra effort by all to make our stay special. I have not seen turkey as yet , we hired a car and in 7 days have not driven it once, our two children refuse to leave the hotel. There is lots do in what my wife described as an impeccable property. The beach is Pristine, great well priced watersports and plenty of riom for indulgences. It's lavish, plush, warm, super cuisine & service which compelled us to write this review and award this hotel every ones of it's 5 well deserved stars. We will be back (soon I hope). Thank you Kempinski Belek and the brilliant team and General Manager who make this Exceptional hotel what it is.

4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 16, 2011

A very impressive hotel, extensive grounds, imposing buildings - both outside and inside - possibly too big for the 175 rooms.
The good points -
* we were welcomed with cold towels and an iced lemonade/mint drink:
* the bedroom (deluxe) was large & comfortable with good seating area:
* the bathroom was fine and all was kept very clean by the maid:
* plenty of sunbeds, spaciously spread out with any number of towels available:
* all the staff were friendly:
* the food could be excellent (T-bone steak & sea bass):
The not so good points -
* if you enjoy a British breakfast you may be disappointed - only eggs & baked beans:
* the TV in the room had minimal English channels - no Sky news:
* a la carte restaurants were available, only used by a few guests so no atmosphere:
* no dress code at dinner - so shorts & trainers were allowed:
* decent bottle of wine cost £50.

Dear Guest (mhmgfouy),

Thank you for posting your kind feedback from your last stay at the Kempinski Hotel The Dome, on this portal.

We are very pleased to note that you overall had a memorable stay at our hotel.

I have taken note of your observations, where we can certainly improve ourselves, and rest assured, we will address them. It is always our attempt to cater to the needs and wishes of all our guests of various nationalities, and preferences. Sometimes we fall short, on which we can also improve on.

As to the TV channels, of the 70 channels that we offer in over 10 languages reflective of our clientele mix, 12 channels are in English, covering news, sports, art, travel and kids however, Skynews is not one of them.

It would be very pleasing to the eye, if everyone was dressed as per the dress code norm for dinner, however, being a luxury holiday resort, we leave it up to the better judgement of our discerning guests such as yourself, to dress appropriately.

Import alcoholic beverages i.e. wine and spirits attract extremely high taxes, which is reflected in the sales prices of the same. However, our attempt is to offer a good selection of Turkish wines, which range from excellent value for money wines to fine wines, in addition to the import selection.

I am very pleased to note your feedback, to further fine tune our services in order to consistently deliver memorable experiences. I sincerely hope that you give us the opportunity to welcome you back to Kempinski Hotel The Dome, in the not too distant future.

with best regards

Positives:
1) friendly, helpful staff; I was told that each staff member gets trained on quality once a week
2) quiet place, perfect for a good rest; the hotel seemed deserted most of the time
3) many golfers means you get the beach to yourself most of the day
4) quality spa

Negatives:
1) the food was so-so - fewer options at the main buffet than I would have expected from a hotel of this calibre
2) the half-board package I signed up for didn't include any drinks, so even water was extra

Also, I was very happy to see that the hotel highlighted the rare sea daffodils at the beach by placing an informative label next to them. I had inquired about these plants the last time I was there last year - I guess they received many such inquiries.

My wife and I, seasoned independent travellers in our 60s, made a 3-1/2 week tour of western Turkey. We spent four nights at this hotel in mid-May to get over jet lag from the long journey from Albuquerque. The hotel is a very upscale golf resort used mostly by independent (predominantly German, almost exclusively European) vacationers and high-end small tours. The hotel is gorgeous with lovely grounds (right on the Mediterranean), spa facilities and an enormous pool -- too bad it was a chillier than normal mid-May, which dampened our enthusiasm for a swim. Aspendos and Side are Roman sights not too far away (we rented a car on arrival at the Antalya airport -- driving was easy, except for going into Antalya, where we got thorougly lost as the signage to the historical center is poor). A previous reviewer complained that only two of the four restaurants were open -- it appears that in the off season they have a nightly (overpriced, themed) buffet and one of the a la carte restaurants open (they rotate between the Asian fusion, Italian, and Turkish/Ottoman). We ate one night at the Asian fusion restaurant and, to be honest, it was one of our worst meals in Turkey. We are not fond of dinner buffets, as the food is usually mediocre, they tend to be overpriced, and we eat too much -- and one night the theme was German food; who wants to eat German food in Turkey! We discovered room service -- they wheeled in a white table cloth cart and put it on our balcony... chicken Caesar salad for my wife, a plate of Turkish meze for me, a half bottle of wine. Very elegant, very romantic, and not expensive. The breakfast buffet is fabulous and if the weather is nice you sit outdoors. Because the golf hotels in Belek are isolated you don't have any other meal options unless you drive, take a bus or cab. My wife also felt underdressed -- the elegant German ladies who hung out at the pool while their husbands golfed brought snazzy clothes, while we brought practical clothes for the rest of our touring-Turkey trip. Staying here off season meant we got a good rate on the web, which made it a good choice for us to get over jet lag.

Next review: Crown Eresin in Istanbul.

Dear Mr. Shapiro,

Thank you for taking the time post your feedback on this portal.
We look forward to such candid feedback, that motivates us to keep improving ourselves.

I am pleased to note, that your overall experience at the hotel was memorable, barring your experiences at our restaurant which were less than satisfactory. I will personally be looking into your feedback on our Asian Restaurant, Trader's Spice. As to your view on why German food in Turkey, well, true, sounds very odd, however, that too was added, based on feedback received from our guests. We try and cater to, the feedback of all our guests, and yes, sometimes we fail to please everyone.

I hope the remainder of your trip in Turkey was also very enjoyable and an enriching experience.

I once again, thank you for your feedback, and look forward to welcoming you back, to Kempinski Hotel The Dome on your next visit to Turkey.
thank you
best regards

We stayed at the dome with our kids and friends for a long weekend. We were in the villas which have private terrace and pool, two rooms, and magnificient scenary of nature, green golf courses, you feel as if you are in a private reserve. The hotel also has a nice walking pathway which runs through the forest beside the gold courses and little lakes. The hotel is silent and nice to relax. kids friendly hotel. The lady at the kids club deserves appreciation. easy travel with the golf cart. Overall nice property however the service is very poor on most of departments especially f&b,and housekeeping. There is said to be butler service but it can not live up to a butler service standard. The service at the beach restaurant is very poor, dirty plates will still remain while you are drinking coffee. Almost no drinks service at the beach.Kempinski standart is not applicable to this hotel, must improve.

Dear FamE2b,

Thank you for your kind feedback from your last stay at Kempinski Hotel The Dome.

We thank you for appreciatiing the associate at the Kids Club, as well as your positive comments on our Villas, the tranquil surroundings that we are so proud to offer to our discerning guests such as yourselves.

The shortcomings in service at the Villas, as well as at the Beach/Pool and in Housekeeping are well noted, and are being addressed on a day to day basis. I understand that you had informed the Duty Manager during your stay, even though it was addressed immediately, I fully concur with you, that it simply should not have happened in the first place.

Your feedback is very important, and I once again, thank you for submitting it on this portal. On your next visit to Kempinski Hotel The Dome, I am sure, you will see a marked improvement.

I and my team look forward to welcoming your family back to Kempinski Hotel The Dome, in the not too distant future.

We have stayed on short visits at this hotel more than once. We retun bc it suits our needs - golf, relax, quiet and sun water. It is clean and facilities provided are better than other hotels in the area. However Kempinski is renouned for quality service, and uniqueness to which this hotel not have that special touch yet. They are getting there, thus for services massage, food, beverages they ask a little too much for the standard THEY provide. They should return something back to the client to remind them of their particular stay. Golf packages and board is good. Yes, it is a little boring at night but overcome with good company....make sure you not go without!
