“Lovely Hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 17, 2013

We have just returned from a 2 wk. holiday at the Riu Kaya and what a lovely Hotel. The staff are just brilliant, from the front desk to the restaurant staff. The hotel is spotless and the staff went to great lengths to keep it that way. Rida at customer relations deserves a special mention as does Lisette both of whom could not do enough to make our holiday special. The A La Carte restaurants are beautiful and the staff make it a wonderful experience to dine there. Umit who danced attendance on us at the Italian a la carte also deserves a special mention. We could go on and on about the the staff as they were all very attentive. There was building works going on around the hotel but in no way were we disturbed by them. Another plus for this hotel was the fact that the room we were in had 1 double bed and 1 single bed and although the brochure showed a larger room than ours, it was still adequate and had a large balcony which was great.

Travelled as group of 27 to celebrate 5 birthdays between 3rd and 10th May. We have stayed at other RIU hotels and were not disappointed by the hotel itself nor its staff. What ruined our holiday was the constant noise from the building work not only being carried out at the sister hotel next door ( obviously behind schedule as was 24/7 ) but also from a new hotel being built on the other side where our rooms looked out over. This was a real nuisance at night as all 4 cranes had really bright lights on them which illuminated our room. Our air conditioning was of no real use so we had the choice of either being uncomfortably hot all night or open the balcony door to let air in but be subjected to an unacceptable noise level from the building work. The hotel was surrounded by cranes diggers and rubble . Food on the whole was ok in the main restaurant but be very wary when eating at the pool rtaurant at lunchtime. There does not appear to be any kind of food rotation and on several occasions the chicken was undercooked which left 4 members of our party with severe sickness and fever with stomach cramps all of whom are still unwell and have had to seek medical advice. Also be careful when drinking from the plastic beakers at the pool bar as these are not washed properly and could therefore spread infection. Our rep was obviously new to the role and did not have a clue which is an issue I have raised seperately with Thomsons. I would also like to point out that there are an awful lot of rude ignorant Russians staying at this hotel with unruly children who would scoop a handful of chips from the servers with their sand covered hands - neither child nor adult seemed to comprehend the concept of queuing !! On a positive note Rida the customer relations manager was very helpful throughout our stay, weather was fab and pool area spotless .

Our family of eight stayed at the Riu Kaya Belek from the 26 April till 10 May 2013. From the moment we arrived nothing was too much trouble for the staff. From the reception,to the room staff, all were very friendly and accommodating.Which brings me to Rida the Customer Relations Manager. Rida would walk around the hotel and pool area every day with a notepad chatting to guests and asking if they had any problems, which he would jot down and act on immediately. Rida is a credit to the hotel and a great ambassador to the Riu chain. The drinks service around the pool area is fantastic, largely due to Denize and Zenab the rollerblading waitresses. Both of these girls work so hard all day long and always with a smile on their faces, very friendly and helpful, both an asset to the hotel. Anyone who complains about the noise of the building work must have booked an economy room, some of which face the building work. We upgraded to a sea view room and could not hear the noise at all. The food at the hotel was very good and with plenty of choice, you will not go hungry. Based on our experience we plan to return to this hotel again. Thank you all for a fantastic holiday.

Rida the manager is really accommodating but the hotel is set smack bang in the middle of a building site with works going on all night. So noise levels can be an issue. Out of the 13 rooms we booked, at least 4 had air conditioning issues that remained the same throughout the holiday. We were pleased we arrived at night when it was dark as most of the ladies were shocked at the demolition going on all around the hotel. The travel agency did not inform of of any building works going on. A new very large hotel is being built next door.

We booked through Thomson Holidays and the Rep was new and unsure of trips etc. however the white water rafting trip was great fun with amazing scenery. Although it was approximately £59 per person - the trip was worth the cost. Some of us tried out the golf course too - this was priced at€80 per person. As a tip struggled with the conversion!

There are no currency changing facilities using a card at the hotel reception - so take plenty of funds as cashpoint machines are a taxi journey away.b you can hire a safe in your hotel room at €1.50 per day.

The food was varied and of a good standard. The bedrooms spacious and clean. View from my room consisted of 4 large cranes and rubble.

Our trip was enjoyable but be prepared for he building works which we were told when at the hotel would be finished for July 2013.

The pool was clean and being early in the season it was easy to secure sun loungers as and when required. With an excellent pool bar service where drinks were brought to you by ladies on roller skates.

Room Tip: Ask for a room when building works are out of sight - although not sure if there are any!

My son, girlfriend and myself went to this resort to celebrate my sons 21st.Admittedly I was a bit sceptical before we went due to it being a 21st!,however,need not have worried. Rida - Customer Relations is one in a million-organised a meal in a la carte restaurant with flower petals ,cake the works . even tried to give me the credit for organizing it all -bless him.We had an absolutely amazing day and everyone joined in Champers at 8am cannot be bad! .When people say nothing is too much trouble, this hotel is a genuine example of that. The entertainment crew especially Ibraham were amazing and the entertainment was enough to keep us hotel bound for a week. This is our fourth time in Turkey and the first where we have spent our time between beach, pool and hotel and more than happy to do so.The food is unbelievable both in quality and choice, along with the three a la carte restaurants which you can go to three times during your stay.Again these are not your usual these are six to eight courses amazing!Home baking for afternoon tea ,it just all seems to good to be true. The drinks are brand names with schweppes tonic and cocktails plentiful -No restriction on bottled water either. The three of us did not want to come home we met some wonderful people and would return despite never usually going to the same place twice.Fantastic spa which I would advise to go for a scrub on first day,my son well impressed with the gym.Absolutely NO need to spend a penny if you choose not to.The new Riu Pallazo was going up at a rate of knots and I believe some things in the Kaya has been compromised as a consequence ,the only reason I would say 4 star as opposed to five(it would only be being pedantic),however,we would most def return if it is affordable.Really too much good to say -If you think it sounds too good to be true- IT IS! Try it.Thanks for a wonderful time .

Room Tip: Family room will comfortably host five adults with enough space and privacy to enjoy a holiday as a...

We chose this hotel as a last minute holiday and what a perfect choice. Riu Belek exceeded our expectations. The guest relation manager Rida is one of a kind. Nothing was to big or to small for him to sort out, not that there was much to sort out. It was my birthday whiles here and he arranged a birthday cake which added that special touch to my day. I'm a flight attendant and have stayed at a large amount of hotels and the most pleased with Riu Belek.
Well done to the management and staff of the hotel. I will be back!

My wife, 7 year old daughter and I stayed at this resort for 11 nights from 5/4/2013. We were immediately made to feel welcome by the reception staff and Rida, the customer relations manager. We were offered a choice of rooms as we wanted to stay away from the building works for the new Riu hotel being built. The room had spectacular views of the pool & Beach. The only negative were the beds were on the small size, however the room was bright & clean.
The resort was quite quiet and we were able to have our space by the pool. The staff were generally attentive and we formed strong bonds with members of the animation team especially Ibrahim, Yousaf and Anastasia. They worked tirelessly day & evening. We especially enjoyed the Michael Jackson show.
The buffet restaurants offered a reasonable selection and we also visited the Italian restaurant.
All in all we would recommend this hotel as a good family resort and would consider re-visiting.
