First stay in Turkey was a litttle worried about going to Turkey no need as this hotel was spotless food was excellent lots of variety. Stayed 10 nights 9-19 october. Weather was very hot. Met some wonderful people. Rida is definiately mr riu. Went into Kadriye town which takes five minutes on the bus easy to get into town and back buses run from 8am till midnight. Would definiately return.

My partner and I have just returned from the Riu Kaya Belek. When we arrived at the hotel we were greeted with a cocktail, our luggage taken to our room and the reception staff were very nice. We were very impressed with the room. It was very clean and spacious. There was a double bed, a single bed, sofa and chair. The minibar was stocked with water, coke, fanta, sprite and apple juice. The bathroom had a bath with a shower overhead, a hairdryer and our towels had been shaped into swans.
The staff at this hotel are so polite and helpful. They work long hours and the majority are always smiling. The hotel is spotless too.
Breakfast consisted of salad, cheese, cold meats, chips, onion rings, vegetables, selection of breads and cakes, omelette station, beans, scrambled eggs, fruit, yoghurt. As this is a Muslim country it did not serve bacon and sausages.
Lunch at the snack bar was the same each day. There was soup, salad, cheese, pizza, flat breads, pasta, hot dogs, burgers, grilled fish, chips and chicken. Lunch in the restaurant included soup, salad, cold meat, fish, pizza, chips, rice and meat dishes. Dinner was the same.
The food was cooked to a high standard but it was repetitive and seemed to cater to the German and Russian tastes.
The major downside to the hotel is the restaurant. I have been to many all inclusive hotels but the attitude of some people amazed me. It extremely busy in the restaurant, to the point where it is uncomfortable. We went to dinner early one evening before the restaurant had opened. When they opened the doors there was literally a stampede as though people had not been fed. My partner and I had to stand against the wall to avoid it, and I am surprised no one was injured. Meals are not enjoyable due to the atmosphere. People were pushing and shoving, shouting at each other. I was kicked by one child trying to get to my table, I was pushed and then abused in German, and I witnessed a near fight break out. It really spoilt our holiday and we ate out a lot even though we were all inclusive.
I was also not happy with the night we were asked to complete a questionnaire. In the afternoon as we went to our room I was stopped by our cleaner. She put a piece of paper in my hand with her name on it and asked me to write a good review about her. Then when we went to dinner I was sat completing the questionnaire and a waiter shoved a piece of paper in my face with his name on, and said "you write." He stood over me until I wrote his name on the questionnaire and I felt very intimidated. I complained to Rida but he also asked a couple to put his name on the form. So be aware on questionnaire night you will be bombarded.
What I am furious about is that the travel agent and the hotel failed to inform us that the hotel next door was being demolished and rebuilt. If you have a room on the pool side you will not hear anything. We were right opposite the work. Demolition started from 8am until 6pm. There was dust everywhere, terrible noise and you could not have the patio doors open or enjoy sitting on the balacony. The hotel and travel agents are fully aware of the work taking place but they will not inform you, so you have been warned.
In summary it is a very clean hotel, excellent staff and food is cooked to a high standard, However the majority of the hotel's guests are Russian and German. Food is catered more to their tastes and announcements are made in Russian and German too. I would not return due to the restaurant being so busy and the rudeness of guests which I appreciate is beyond the hotels control.

My partner and I stayed in the Riu Kaya Belek for 2 weeks from 11th - 25th September. We arrived early hours of the morning from a flight from Glasgow. The check in staff where extremely friendly and informed us that we had the "best room in the hotel", we did not take the comment seriously but as it turned out we did. We were given a suite on the 4th floor which was huge, too big really for the 2 of us but we clearly did not complain. The room was very clean, mini bar was always refilled with plenty soft drinks and water everyday. The air conditioning was incredible although we felt it was so cold sometimes we had to turn it off or turn the temperature up (this is a first) Bathroom was also very spacious with a fantastic shower, fresh towels daily.

The hotel facilities were excellent as we are both into keeping fit the onsite gym was one of the best we have seen in the Riu Hotel chains plenty of equipment and most of the time we were on our own (until the tennis tournament started). The pool area was always clean and there was no problem trying to get a sunbed or parasol even if you came down mid morning/early afternoon.

Food in the main restaurant was a little repetitive but the food was of a high quality, the only downside was the amount of beastly people who feel the need overfill their plates with food and waste most of it. It’s a disgrace really, quite literally we saw people getting fatter by the day. I am all for enjoy your holiday but pigs in a trough spring to mid. The speciality restaurants were fantastic we did 2 nights at the Italian, the Asian and the BBQ and loved all of them. I have to say the amount of food in the Italian was ridiculous but we did manage to eat it all :)

The Entertainment team were questionable too many cocky young lads in the group to put you off joining in which is a shame as there was a couple of them who were very pleasant – we only really watched the Turkish night and the Beach Gala party which were both enjoyable, the firework display on the beach was fantastic. We spent most of our nights at the pool bar in the nice sea breeze chatting with other couples.

The best thing about our hotel was the hotel “fixer” Rida he was sensational and clearly the person behind the success at this hotel. He is everywhere making sure everyone is having a great time and ensuring you have everything you need. Nothing is too much effort for him!

We went to the bizarre market in Belek one Saturday morning – proper eye opener but enjoyable. It’s mostly just fake bags and watches which are not great quality at all. If that’s what you are into the shops are the place to go but never accept the price the say. Belek at night was good pretty quiet given the size of the place but lots of nice bars and restaurants. We ate in Moods which our rep had recommended; it was very nice and just different to eating in the hotel.

Taxi to Belek was 40 turkish Lira or 18 Euros – make sure you make it clear that’s what your paying (it is written on their daily rates board) as one of the old drivers tried to get us to give him more money which we refused he was livid, he then approached us a few days later in a not so pleasant manner to again ask for his money. He was told to bolt! We informed our rep who advised us of a couple who were driven to the middle of nowhere by their driver where 2 other cabs turned up and they all demanded money of them. Needless to say we never got a cab again. Take the bus or walk its very safe.

First Choice trips were great we did the day trip to Side which was beautiful lots of old amphitheatre ruins and Turkish culture which is lovely to see. We also did the lazy day cruise which we would recommend to anyone as it was fantastic cruising round the Med diving off a boat into beautiful water (no need for snorkels as we saw not 1 fish).

All in all a great holiday and I would recommend it to anyone.

Room Tip: Room 4051 if you get the chance its a suite.

We stayed at riu kaya from 11th september to 25th september 2012,this was our second visit to this hotel and it wont be the last.
Thehotel has made a few improvements since our last visit eg-building a wall between the beach and beach snack bar and diverting the entrance to the beach around the snack bar preventing sand being brought in by people who did not use the foot wash, also the building of new toilets between the snack bar and pool bar.
The beach party was excellent with a bonfire and fireworks and the black and white nightwas superb with a baked alaske parade between the pools followed with another firewok cisplay and champagne for all.
The only down side was people being allowed in the main restaurant for evening dinner in shorts and tee shirt despite a notice stating that they were not allowed in the dining room.

A very nice hotel, fabulous weather, nice golf course. No problem getting sunbeds round the pool at any time of the day. Two big pools, plus activity pools with slides etc. for kids. The snack bar was excellent for lunch, good pool bar, and good service from Omar around the pool during the day. Rida, the Guest Relations manager was excellent and extremely helpful. Food in the a la carte restaurants was good, but the service was unusual in that starters were on the table before you arrive.

Room Tip: Request a pool view room - you will also get sea view with pool view rooms.

This is an excellent hotel that is only let down by the bad manners of some guests of various nationalities of which the hotel has little control, however, they do sort out issues if the occur!!!
E.g. the man with the tattooed chest was denied access into the main restaurant although he did try his best!!! How can the hotel be held responsible for his bad manners?

The staff in all areas/departments both inside and out are some of the friendliest people you would wish to meet and help make your holiday special, they are trustworthy, hardworking and a credit to both themselves and to the management.

The chefs do an amazing job with the catering and are to be praised for the wide variety of dishes and desserts presented each night to the highest standard.....remember to take some roomy clothes for the end of the holiday!! (Thanks also for the Krem Santi)

Everything is excellent both inside and outside being comfortable and meticulous clean, gardens and pool areas also.

Finally, not everyone likes the same things, but we love the RIU Kaya Belek, so much so we have already booked to return early next year ...............thanks to all who helped make our holiday special, especially Mert (Matt - Deputy Manager), Rida (Guest relations), Raziye (Reception), Mustafa Kirca (Restaurant), Ali G (Bar Manager) and Semra (housekeeping) plus many more too numerous to mention.
