Stayed for 10 nights from 23 September until 03 October 2013 - Our room : 1318.
After a swift check-in a member of guest relations (we arrived just before midnight) pointed out all the key areas of the hotel and took our details so we could have a complimentary breakfast in our room the following morning as it was our honeymoon.
Once shown to our room we were greeted with a congratulatory letter, bottle of wine and fresh fruit again all to mark our honeymoon! Lovely touches to make it feel that little bit more special.
The room was clean and had all essentials: tv, air-con, a mini fridge that was always re-stocked on a daily basis (still and sparkling water, coke, fanta and Efes beer). The bathroom came with slippers, dressing gowns, hair dryer, little bottles of shampoo, conditioner, bubble bath and towels. Big thumbs up to the cleaners of floor 3 - every day we came back to fresh, clean towels and a tidy room :-) You also were given large beach towels in your room that you could then change for clean ones between 5 & 7 each night next to one of the pools.
Our room looked out over the back of the main hotel, where we could see the quieter pool and seating area, and you had lovely views of the mountains in the distance too. It was so peaceful!!
Food is pretty much served all day. In the main restaurant breakfast between 7am-11am, lunch 12.00-2.30 and then dinner is from 6.45pm until about 9.30pm. You have a patisserie that serves all manner of cakes and freshly made waffles 12-4, the ice cream bar is open for a couple of hours in the afternoon (it's all local but well worth a visit!), The Lycia bar (my favourite!!) was open 12-4 which served freshly made pizzas, salads, chips/wedges, fish, breaded chicken and lots of other food which changed every day, and then the beach bar serves hotdogs and burgers. The staff were so friendly and always ready with a smile to take your drinks orders. We never had issues with long wait times, but then we did always try and go at quieter times for our meals. This will be the same wherever you go but be warned, in the main restaurant at peak times, it is each man for himself when working your way along the buffet!! My only gripe (and to be fair this against other guests and not the hotel) is that some people never bothered to close the lids on the food containers. Not a big problem, but then food would get cold quicker and are open to the elements. Again, this is not something the hotel can fix, but it's a shame other peoples' ignorance could cause problems for other guests. We realised that the staff were definitely not fluent in English, but they all had a good understanding of the basics so as long as you keep it simple you're good to go. I made the mistake of asking for lemonade at one bar and confused the staff member - only to realise that over there they know it as sprite!!
We realised early into the holiday that there are very few English guests. We noticed the majority were Russian or German. This was not a problem though as the Entertainment team did everything in English - Martin amazed us with his grasp of so many different languages! Every night we were entertained by the shows they put on between 9pm and 10pm - Mamma Mia (be warned the staff act, but mime the words - this one is for all those that love ABBA!), Mother Africa (Amazing acrobatics and dancing - the little lad that did 30 backflips in a row was awesome!!), Michael Jackson Tribute, Madonna tribute, The Sketch Show (Very Funny!), Mr Atlantis, Turkish Night, The Lion King to name but a few - not to mention that after this we were given karaoke (watching someone sing in Russian was a definite first for me!) Bingo (we didn't play as you had to pay, but there were some decent prizes up for grabs), The 80's night (like us, you may spot that not all songs are from the 80's......!!) Oktoberfest, a foam party and the list goes on!
With so many different areas you will always find what you want - be it a nice peaceful sit down, or music whilst you swim. What I loved about this place is that they are no way pushy. They will ask if you want to take part with activities, but once you say no they will just walk away with no hassle given.
There are fridges dotted around the resort full of bottled water, and all the bars serve everything from water to coffee, beer to cocktails (I highly recommend the tequila sunrise!!)
I'm already missing the sound of rushing water, pan pipe music whilst I eat, and the being told to 'Enjoy your Meal' even though we've finished eating :-)
I have well and trully fallen for the Limak Atlantis and will definitely be back to celebrate our anniversary next year.
