“Best Holiday Ever”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 1, 2013 via mobile

We loved the Xanadu, our first holiday to Turkey. We could not find any fault with anything. The staff are friendly and very attentive. Everyday just got better and better, the entertainment team were brilliant loved the shows,BBQ,headphone disco.i could go on and on. Don't book anywhere else you will love the Xanadu.

My partner and I have just returned from our third visit to Xanadu and this time we took our friends who were celebrating their 40th wedding anniversary. Once again after booking I contacted the hotel to request the same room we'd had for our previous visits and to inform them of our friends anniversary celebrations. We were delighted on arrival at the hotel to find that not only had we been given the same room but our friends were right next door. They were even more delighted the following day to come back to their room and find flowers, champagne, cake and Shang-Du spa vouchers for their anniversary so a huge thumbs up to Xanadu for that. Transfer from the airport had been seamless and check-in at the hotel took less that ten minutes and included a cooling cocktail before we were shown to our rooms. I have to mention the refurbishment of the lobby/reception area which looks fantastic and creates a wonderful impression as you enter the hotel.

We quickly spotted another change with the addition of new steps leading into the secret garden pool. At first we thought was a huge improvement we quickly learnt that the new steps have now made the secret garden pool more accessible to children and as a result this particular pool is no longer the quiet relaxing area it once was but has now become much more family orientated. With the zero entry pool and designated children's pool already available to younger guests I believe there should be a designated adults only pool for those guests who don't wish to be surrounded by loud children all day. This having been said the secret garden pool still remains one of our favoured areas.

We felt that this year there didn't seem to be as many staff and therefore at times there were delays in service, however the standard of service on the whole remains very high, the staff do work long hours but always maintain a smile and a cheery welcome. You quickly get to build a rapport with some of the staff and they do look after you very very well

As always the quality and variety of food was very good. perhaps at times the food could have been hotter but it always tasted wonderful. We made good use of the a la carte restaurants and the Italian, Mexican & Chinese are well worth a visit.

You cannot find fault with the number of bars or the huge variety of drinks on offer, premium brands with premium measures being poured !!! wonderful cocktails and the house wine is very drinkable

We decided to hire a beach pavilion for one day. At 75 euros it might sound expensive but was well worth it with your own waiter service and a never ending supply of food and drinks and of course somewhere cool to escape from the hot afternoon sun. A handy tip is to ask for number 8 which gives a lovely view of the beach & sea with nothing in front of you

The entertainment team once again excelled themselves. We took in a couple of the shows in the ampitheatre and the beach foam party is an absolute must, really great fun

You cannot possibly find fault with the cleanliness of the entire resort. The pool areas are immaculate and the toilet facilities are amongst the cleanest I've ever come across. The cleaning staff deserve nothing but praise for their never ending efforts and attention to detail.

So our overall assessment would be that we have had another great holiday at Xanadu where they have maintained high standards and although some of the changes didn't meet with our approval the bottom line is that this hotel offers us everything we want from a holiday. If I had one complaint it would the hotel wanting 117 euros for us to keep the room on for an extra six hours. This did seem excessive, if your airport transfer pick up isn't until 1915 then surely you should be able to keep your room until 1600.

The bottom line is that the Xanadu still ticks all the boxes for us, our friends had a wonderful time and the hotel lived up to all their aspirations. Will we return ? without doubt and I would fully recommend this hotel to anyone

Room Tip: Ask for one of the garden bungalows around the secret garden pool

A slightly delayed review as we visited at the end of May 2013. We actually got married there and I have to say the experience was a dream. Now we were both pretty laid back about our wedding arrangements and did not want to plan everything to the finest detail. With a dedicated wedding planner to hand, that worked perfectly for us. We chose the beach garden to get married and it was fantastic. We had a relatively small wedding party but ages ranged from little ones to old ones! Absolutely everybody thought the hotel was fantastic. With the many pools, beach and activities to choose from, we had to make plans to meet every day as it was easy to miss the people we were there with. All I’d say is that it’s probably not great for older teens and those looking for some partying as its more family orientated.
The food was really good and the daily barbeques for dinner excellent. The pool bars were great for lunch time snacks and overall service was great. Drinks were all named brands, although wine only complimentary if you chose house but this was good enough. Beer was also Turkish Efes, which I like, so no problem there for me.
Can’t fault the holiday at all, and it seems we’ve fallen under the spell of Xanadu as we’ve booked for a return trip next year.

Room Tip: We had one of the bungalow rooms which are set in the forest. Nice and peaceful and away from the ma...

My Wife and I + Daughter stayed 7 days at Xanadu in early August - had great time, the hotel was really great, food was fabulous and the staff were very friendly and helpful.

Met some great people and had some good laughs as well, despite awful Karoake !

Special thanks to Mariana in guest relations, who sorted opposing rooms for us pre-arrival, AND returned my Daughters bear, her having left it behind, big thank you Mariana, it arrived safely today .

Would definitely recommend this hotel - only criticism was the fact that you had to re-logon to the wi-fi every time.

This was our third visit here, and as we overheard another guest say it just gets better every year, and I would concur. We even met one family who were on their 8th stay. The all inclusive is genuine value, having stayed at others where the food or drink was less than satisfactory this is a real pleasure, quaffable wine, a range of brand spirits and every buffet was a winner. Always something going on for adults and children and the beach and pool sides are set up for total relaxation. The best part of this hotel has to be the Spa. It is not cheap but everyone that visits leaves feeling a million dollars and is treated like a VIP. Highly recommend for couples and families.

Room Tip: Pick a sea view and the fourth floor, great vista to wake up to

Just got back from 11 days at Xanadu - had such a great time the hotel was really great the food was fabulous and the staff were very friendly and helpful.

The evening shows were very entertaining and professional and there was lots for the kids to do especially in the games room which had a bowling alley, table tennis and playstations

The barbeque in the woods was really fab and there was plenty of food, drink and ice-cream flowing all day and night

Would definitely recommend this hotel - only criticism was the bad wi-fi connection in the room
