“Loved it! Swim up suite fantastic”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 11, 2012 via mobile

I stayed here for 11 nights with my partner and our 10 year old daughter. To make it simple here's a pros/ cons list
Pros- we found staff very helpful and friendly without the need to tip for it, I saw no German/ English preferential treatment going on personally. The staff manning the bar at the Hedra in the evenings made our nights :) thank you (Hussain and others)

Quick transfer to room

Hotel is very clean as are the pools

I found the pool water plenty warm enough- there is a heated pool in main hotel also.

Guest relations are very helpful

Food was brilliant- we spent most nights in the alacarte, well worth the €10, daughter was always free

Entertainment was great- especially the brought in acts

Entertainment team didn't hassle if you want to relax

Lots of different areas to sit and have a drink or cake

Food available all times of day in lots of places!

Sun beds were available everywhere all times of the day and towels available with towel card (or help yourself towels in swim up room area and indoor pool)

My daughter enjoyed the kids club a few times

Slides were great fun- lifeguard only stepped in a few times to calm people down

Tractor to town by entrance €1- bargain

Our room was brilliant!!! Junior swim up suite. We loved having the steps down to the pool. Top tier of room is shower/ toilet/ sink/ jacuzzi bath/ small balcony area. All toiletries you need are here. Dove shampoo etc. bath robes and hair drier. Second tier our massive bed (quite firm). Third tier the sofa bed, fridge, wardrobe, dressing table area and doors onto balcony and steps to pool. Very quick walk to main hotel area

Cleaners were great! We experienced no loss of belongings etc.

We made great friends in the rooms next door. Hello hot chocolate!

There are many more pros. Very relaxing hotel

Cons- no reception on arrival- I was looking forward to a glass of bubbly :(

Arrived in room to find no bed for our daughter. Did my best to make up sofa bed but had to call reception as no linen. Guest relations said first choice hadn't informed them we even had a child- thanks first choice! Paid enough for her

Room service food wasn't brilliant but lots of choice- no tea/coffee making facilities in room and when requested by room service it was Luke warm on arrival so went without

No iron in room and none available to borrow- fire risk they say but there is a laundary service at a charge- we just sported the creased look

We had a complaint from a fellow guest at 12am for laughing too loud- sorry Margaret

Beware wet steps in the room! I sprained my wrist falling down them (I wasn't even drunk!)

The chocolate man was a bit strange at first- opening door in the evening and throwing chocs on the bed- became a laugh though

Our mini-bar wasn't well topped up- had to try and catch him down the corridor and get beer/coke etc otherwise it would have been water left only

That's enough cons as we all loved the holiday and would go back tomorrow!
Genuinely wouldn't call it 5* though due to the minor things :)

- Guest relations ladies: so helpful, competent, friendly, and beautiful! My special thanks to a romanian girl (unfortunately don't remember her name) who helped to deal with my sudden allergy.
- As seafood lovers would definitely recommend Hedera restaurant. The main restaurant serves sea food frequently as well as good quality meat & poultry varieties, meanwhile the "sweet table" is rather modest.
- Green area at the front and garden area at the back of the hotel
- Game centre
- Decent choice of imported drinks

- Our room was rather small, mood & cracks all over bathroom, strange smell of mustiness in the room
- Petite (close to none) beach
- Insolent Staff at the pool restaurant

Never known a place where all the staff want to help you, Drinks served quickly. Restaurant staff were very good. Did not understand Truly honest review remark about no heated pool as one pool was heated and the others were quite warm when you had been in for five minutes.

Food was excellent and plentiful and so many outlets, we used the a la carte at 5 euros per person. Booking by telephone was easy but you had to be at hotel at 6 to do it.

Shuttle bus to golf was a very good service. Driven ever day by a very friendly man. pleasure to tip him.

Down sides were very few - Hotel shops never had stamps, missed the bacon at breakfast although understood why.

3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 24, 2012

We have just got back from 2 weeks at the Cornelia De Luxe resort. My wife and I went with our 7 and half month son and were joined by my mother and father in law for the second week.
It was our 3rd visit to Turkey, and our 2nd to Belek. We arrived at the hotel around 17.30 after a comfortable transfer with Thomas Cook,. While we were checked in, we were offered champagne or orange juice.

We paid extra for a swim up room in the front, quiet part of the hotel. In hindsight the swim up room was not needed as the room only had about half hour of sun in the morning and the rest of the day the room was in the shade.
The room itself, was very well decorated and very clean with lots of amenities, We had large spa bath and a super king size bed (which was a little hard). All the rooms are decorated in various shades of green!! The fridge is stocked with soft drinks, beer and water daily.

All the staff we met were polite and helpful, admittedly, some staff didn't speak much English but there was usually another member of staff near by who spoke good English.
Entertainment staff were lovely and always had time for a cuddle with our son. My favourite staff (and also my father in law's) were the Guest Relations girls - Madelina, Derya & Olga, who went out of there way to be helpful to guests and it helped that they were all beautiful!
Waiters - some were good & consistent, others were not as helpful. Maybe it was the tipping but the Russians got a much better service generally at lunchat the Daphne bar/restaurant
The animation team tried to get people involved during the day but were happy to leave you alone if you just wanted to relax.
Nightly entertainment was good - lots of bought-in entertainment & even the animation team shows were good. The Cornelia dance is one you'll remember when you get home!

The pools in October are cold, so cold that they were mostly empty & are not heated which is a shame as the pools are large. As others have mentioned, they're all 1.4-1.5 meters deep which is strange for a family orientated hotel.

The buffet had a good selection of food however, it was not keep hot except for as soon as it was brought out. Cold food was cold so that wasn't an issue and bread was always fresh.
Al a carte restaurants whilst nice were €10 per person, when spending this much money on an all inclusive hotel all restaurants should be included in the all inclusive package.
Breakfast was available at the Hedera al a carte restaurant by the swim-up rooms as was lunch but the menu wasn't widely available - you had to ask at the bar & then they'd give you the menu. Breakfast & lunch were included in the AI package.

It does help but doesn't make much of a difference. Waiters will still come to your table at lunch or in the evening to bring drinks & will usually remember what you've ordered.

The hotel only gets a 3 rating because of the very cold pools that were not really usable, especially for children, warm, not hot buffet food and the fact you have to pay for al a cartes.

In the end, I guess it's about what you expect from a holiday, during the summer the pools would be usable so that would help but paying €20 a night plus tips for meals for 2 people adds a hefty amount to an all inclusive holiday, which isn't cheap to begin with.

Hope this helps guys

5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 22, 2012

Back home yesterday, having had a very relaxing and enjoyable holiday at this wonderful hotel.
My husband and I stayed for one week in a very spacious Garden room.

This was our 8th visit to Turkey and we were excited to be going to a different area - Belek.
We arrived at 12.30 am, checked in quickly and headed straight to the late buffet situated at the 24 hour Daphne bar - There is a small selection of food available - we had some soup and then headed to our room, where our cases were waiting for us.

Our room was situated a short walk behind the main hotel. Lovely room, which had a large flat screen TV, a balcony with chairs and a table, a fridge which was well stocked with coke, fanta, sprite, cartons of peach and strawberry juices, bottled effes beer and water. The only thing we didn't like about the room were the beds. We had two single beds, which we pushed together, but they were very low and very hard. Unfortunately, we didn't sleep well in them, but we did manage an afternoon nap on the loungers at the beach. Who wants to sleep much on holiday anyway? The maid did put a large fitted sheet on the beds, which we thought was nice. Lovely clean towels everyday, as you would expect.
We would never book a swim-up room. The apartments are in very close proximity to one another and the entire area is surrounded by lots of large trees - most of the rooms wouldn't get a lot of sun. In our opinion, not worth paying a lot extra for this!

Food was plentiful - so many choices!
On our first morning, we had breakfast in the main restaurant - The Cornelius restaurant, situated in the main part of the hotel, on the second floor. There was a fantastic choice - eggs all different ways, salad bar, lovely breads, fruit and turkish delight. Even smoked salmon and smoked fish! On further investigation, we noticed that the Hedera restaurant - an A La Carte in the evening, served breakfast too. We ended up having breakfast there from then on - The restaurant is situated amongst the swim up rooms and was only a stone's throw from our room. My husband had bacon and fried egg every day! Yum!
Lunch was thoroughly enjoyed every day at the Daphne bar. Salad and fruit were self service. There were also two different choices of soup available. The actual menu was fabulous. We had the best pizza that we have ever had in Turkey! And when I say pizza, it wasn't just a few slices, but an entire pizza! We also had cheeseburgers, spag bol, and my husband had a steak! Service was fabulous!
Other alternatives to lunch would be the main restaurant. There was a takeaway section, for I suppose, late lunches - Baked potatoes were available from 4.30pm - We were always too full to try them! There are also soft drinks, ice cream and golzeme stations next to the baked potato stand. This area is situated near the towel hut!
Evening meal - You had the choice of eating in the main buffet restaurant or dining at one of the A La Cartes - Think there was a choice of five. We ate one night, at the Tai Pen - Oriental Absolutely fantastic food and service! All A La Cartes charge 10 Euros per person - worth every penny!
We ate in the main restaurant every other night and thoroughly enjoyed the food available. Lots of salad, two soups every night, roast chicken one night - served as a "carvery". The meat casseroles were very tender and super yummy! Think it was veal. Desserts were terrific! There was a small chocolate fountain :))) Ice cream, yummy baklava and lots more.
We also enjoyed coffee and cake at the patisserie, situated indoors, next to the lobby bar. Lovely choices - Yum Yum!
24 hour room service is available, free of charge! Alcoholic drinks, served to your room are charged. We never had room service - never needed it!

Loved the red wine, rose wine and champagne. Although Bacardi, our tipple, should have been available at all of the bars, some bars gave us Havana Club, until a small tip had been given. A minor niggle! Another drink was being lined up before you had finished the first one - fantastic! Mojitos were fab!
When we ordered a coffee, from the lobby bar, it was served with a miniture meringue and a small almond biscuit - A lovely touch :)
A small note - there were no tea/coffee making facilities in our room - didn't really bother us!
My husband tried the fresh juice at the Citrus Bar - Carrot, grapefruit and orange were to name but a few of the juices available.

We didn't have much contact with the Animation team. They only put on one show - Moulin Rouge - quite good. Other shows were brought in - Russian children's circus, Kenyan acrobats and on the last night, Sat - which is always Turkey night - a fantastic show - traditional turkish dancing - worth going to!
There was live music most nights at the Daphne bar after the show. We enjoyed one band in particular, who played really modern music and the female singer was fabulous!
We were only in the disco once - didn't have much of an atmosphere, as there were only 4 of us in there! Animation seemed to do themed nights in there - Horror Disco for example. They were dressed up - some of them were really quite scary - They were dressing up the guests as they went in too! Didn't go as my other half isn't too keen on dancing - I love dancing though!
I didn't do any of the daytime activities. Boccia was played every day near the beach bar and there was a game of bingo every day at 5pm at Daphne bar. Lots of daytime entertainment if you wanted to join in. My husband did play beach volleyball, which he thorougly enjoyed as the sand was lovely and smooth and he didn't get the usual cuts on his feet.

We didn't actually sit at the pool. There were plenty of available sun loungers and lots of umbrellas. Not many people swimming in the pools - too cold, even althought it was 37 most days. There was a heated indoor pool, if you wanted to swim.
The beach was our favourite place to be - lots and lots of loungers available at the beach either side of the volleyball court - A canopy covered the lounders, instead of umberellas - We sat as close to the waterfront as we could and enjoyed a lovely sea breeze most days. Have got the best tan I've had in a long time :) It was lovely swimming in the sea - There were lots of tiny, black fish as you go in - They don't do you any harm!
There was also a pier with sun loungers and a canopy that stretched the full length. There was a lovely breeze there - Loungers were very popular on it, so we didn't manage to lie there.

All in all, we found the staff to be very good. They were always pleasant. A little slow, compared to other hotels we have stayed in. We got to know a few of them, as much as we could, as English wasn't very well spoken. But then my Turkish isn't that great either - I do try!
When we ate in the main restaurant on an evening, we usually sat in the same area. One night, one of the waiters, said to my husband as we went in " I've got a table reserved for you" - He had indeed - Two glasses of red wine, water and a nice spot, one of our usual tables all set up for us - Lovely :) I think his name was Selim :)
Guest relations staff were lovely too - Derya in particular - was lovely talking to her - Her English was fab.

The gardens/grounds were immaculate and very colourful. The gardeners were always busy watering or cutting something. Very impressed.
There is a spa and a gym. My husband used the gym most days and said it's the best gym that he has used in Turkey. He was impressed! We didn't use the spa.
There are two large tv's situated near the lobby bar - A lot of guests gathered there on one particular night when the football was on.
We spoke to a lot of the guests who were there golfing - most of them said that because the courses weren't marshalled, then it was taking ten minutes per shot! They weren't very impressed. Most courses charge at least 100 pounds per round. Some groups only played nine holes, because it was so hot!
Free wi-fi available. We didn't take our laptop. The hotel charges 5 Euros per hour for internet access, using one of their computers. We didn't bother.

This hotel is definitely one of our favourite hotels in Turkey and we will be back :))

Stayed at the Cornelia de Luxe between 12th and 19th October 2012 and booked a swim up room which was fantastic.

Rooms are exceptionally clean with housekeeping performed daily to a very high standard. The bed was a super king size bed and the jacuzzi bath was used every night! There was also a plentiful amount of toiletries provided by the hotel including dove shower gel and shampoo. The room service was average and the staff seemed to get pretty annoyed at us ordering pots of coffee all the time. Tea and coffee making facilities in the room would be better!

The mini bar was stocked with branded soft drinks and local beer and was replenished every day. Cocktails at the bars were nice but if you are a lover of branded spirits be sure to point out that you want them as the staff will automatically reach for local spirits, which just don't taste the same. The local beer was ok and was 5% in strength.

The a la carte restaurants are of superb quality, with the Tai Pen, French and Hedera restaurants being our favourites. The regular restaurant is also excellent with a plentiful choice of main courses and desserts.

Look out for the Turkish wraps and stuffed pancakes by the towel station (at the bottom of the water slides). They were delicious.

We found the hotel to be of fantastic quality, the pools were very clean and highly maintained.

One issue we found that service was not consistent, mainly due to the language barrier with some staff but overall staff were polite and friendly.

We wanted to keep our room longer than the usual 12 o'clock check out and found the reception staff to be most unhelpful throughout the week in this request. The staff within guest relations (opposite reception) accommodated our request immediately and gave us a check out of 2pm for free. Our advice would be to approach guest relations in the first instance rather than reception!

We attended Belek town which cost €5 in a taxi and €1 each on a tractor/trailer with seats for the return journey. We couldn't believe the cost of goods such as handbags, watches and clothing - ALL of which are fake, even in the shops that look like they only sell genuine items (particularly the jewellers). Haggling seems to have disappeared by shop owners as my wife was interested in a Louis Vuitton handbag which was €160, a lot of money for a half decent fake and the shop owner would not move on the price.

Would recommend a massage at the hotel, the spa can be found behind the juice bar and also has a sauna and steam room which are complimentary and very clean.

For those with children there are several pool tables, two full size ten pin bowling lanes, six play station consoles, air hockey, and other games which are found downstairs next to the shops within reception.

There is entertainment every night in the theatre near to reception and we found it to be varied and good. The Chinese acrobats were incredible, as were the African acrobats.

We were lucky with the weather as average temp in October is around 25 degrees. We saw temperatures of 30+ degrees and missed thunderstorms either side of our stay.

Transfer time from Antalya airport is also good and only took just over 30mins.

Overall we loved the hotel but the location wasn't great. We went to relax and unwind and that's exactly what we did but we do like to explore our surroundings and Belek was a disappointment.
