“Central location, touch to the antiquity.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 25, 2012

The pensao is on one of the main streets, a perfect point to start in any direction. I suppose it would be quite and calm, if there was no a festival and "millions" of people on the streets far after midnight. No elevator and the stairs are very narrow and steep. It is hard to pass with a big suitcase. Friendly staff on the reception. They place at our disposal an iron, when it was needed. Nice breakfast was included in the price of the room. The room was like the whole building, old with its own long history. The floor was covered with an old and dirty kind of rug or carpet, otherwise the room and the bathroom were spacious enough. The windows had window covers, which could save you from the street noise even if they can not close firmly, like in our case. The bed was comfortable. There was also a Wi-Fi included in the price.

We stayed two nights at this very lovely hotel. This is a great place to stay if you are on a budget. Our room was quite spacious with a large bathroom. There was no hairdryer (we had our own) and no closet, just a couple of hangers. I just loved the old style of this hotel. The staff is very helpful and pleasant. The breakfast was good and the breakfast room is just lovely. Also, great location, right in the middle of the town center.

Room Tip: You may want to have a room not facing the main street, as it can get a bit noisy at night. We close...

The Residencial Uniao is an adorable little hotel with an amazing owner.
He is really helpful and nice.
The rooms are quite big and clean. The bed are comfortable and big.

The hotel is well located in Tomar. It is near the "shopping" street.

The only thing is that the breakfast that could be improved....

But really enjoyed my night there!!!

This hotel is very basic. It is almost a hostel. I would say it is mostly for student travelers. We were travelling with my mom (75 years old) and were not ready for that kind of place. There is a feeling that it “should be OK and clean” if you know what I mean. We travelled in April and it was much colder than normal. Temperature in the hotel room was barely 15oC. It is very cold! When we asked for heating, the clerk answered that the heating is off in April. That’s it!

The location is very good tough. It is situated on the central pedestrian street in the old town. For one night it is OK. Be aware, there is no parking around. If you will be lucky, you will find spot on the city parking. Sunday is free, so, Saturday night you can park with no charge if you got a spot.

Room Tip: I am not sure there is a difference between rooms...

We located this hotel easily and even got free car parking. The check in was great and we even had a pick of rooms and chose one with a double bed and single bed with a large bathroom. Wifi was included and so was breakfast. It is situated on a pedestrian mall and there was no road noise. Daniela was very helpful and even helped us with our luggage. The rate was favourable and good value

We loved Tomar and the Residencial Uniao. It is in the center of the historical district, a short distance from the train/bus station. It is an easy distance to walk. The staff was helpful. We decided to extend our stay because of the "quiet and peaceful" area. It was a useful base for us to take daily trips by bus to other sites in the area. The room was comfortable and clean.

This Pensao it is in the central of Tomar, in the Central Street of this very nice Town.
We found this Pensao when we arrived in the afternoon, we went inside because it is the first hotel we found and it was a very good choice !
The reception it is after the stairs and we met a kind lady that doesn't speaks english but can speaks in italian and spanish and portuguese of course! She explained us the two types of room she has: with a big bathroom or with the small; we decided for the small one.
The Pensao it is very charme! The furnitures are antique and the room was very very beautfil not so big but very clean and unique !
Our room it is also with antique forniture, with television (some channels are internationals) , with soap and towels.
The bed it was a little bit small but like all the Portugal !
The breakfast was also a surprise ! A lot of biscuits, fruits, marmelate, bread, juice, tea, coffe and also something salat.
The price was very economic for this type of accomodation !
