“Suburban mornings”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 17, 2013

Rustic mornings by cafe isabelo boastsof international cuisine, hefty servings, and value for money. The restaurant concept is unique in itself, with a brunch menu specialties that will keep you coming back. Simple flavors, the right combination of herbs, and a not too salty taste left my palate as I tried one of their Filipino set meals. At night, the brunch restaurant specialty turns into a romantic dinner experience. You need to reserve seats if you want to go there at night.

“Old Town Charm Breakfast Place”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 11, 2013

Grew up in this part of the city - back then it was still a municipality with its old town charm and hopefully will stay the same way even as the years pass by. And enough of waxing memories and back to the resto. Didn't even know this place and it was only after a friend posted it in FB that it sparked my interest.

Its quite hard to find but the best tip would be is it's past the Otto Building and Our Lady of the Abandoned Parish. A few meters past those landmarks you'll have to stay on your right side and go through a narrow road (Isabelo Mendoza St.). There's a parking area inside the compound. I will however advise that you park along the main road if the place is full.

Their serving folks were very cordial and courteous however service was slow on that day since some Church going townsfolk also go this place(probably going on a Sunday morning is not a good idea). After about 30 or 40 minutes food was served. Surprisingly enough my bacon, hash browns and eggs were good. Servings were huge and the Php200+ for the order was real value for your money.

Good food, best bang for the buck and old town charm, elegance and atmosphere offsets all the negatives. That's why I'm going back to this place.

“A GEM IN MARIKINA: NOT EASY TO FIND”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 26, 2013

It's part of the attraction - this place is not easy to find...it's off the main road through a very narrow road. It's literally a one lane road. Once you are in the compound, you are transported to a a very charming home cafe. You'll get a feeling that you are house guests with the owners just in the kitchen preparing your meals.

The place is literally a different restaurant at night. At night this restaurant is called by some other name...Isabelo, I think. But Rustic Mornings serves brunch items from omelettes to fresh sandwiches and pasta. Their parmigiano carbonara is good. Their salads are excellent - fresh with interesting dressings. And don't miss the hash browns! My son enjoyed the burger.

Finally, a good white wine to perk you up on a sunny Sunday morning isn't a bad idea. They do have wines as well.

It is absolutely wise to call for a reservation. These are their numbers: (02) 5106914 . (02) 6812461 . 0917 7005810. Go their website to get the directions.
