Just back from KUBU BALI ,CANDIDASA BALI.
Great location in a exotic garden with views over the ocean .
Atractive cottages are spread out with privacy in mind.
An attentive and friendly staff are always there to assist.
While in CANDIDASA try boating / fishing with the local fishermen
or snorkling in BLUE LAGOON ,a great experience!
Hope to be back again soon.

We've stayed at this hotel three times and have already booked for next summer. It's a great place to relax and just do nothing for a few days. The gardens are VERY beautiful. The rooms (bungalows) are spacious and comfortable and the private terraces all have great views. The pool area is great, also with a great view. The people who work at the Kubu Bali are all very friendly.
You can get a massage for about 70.000 rupiah at your private terrace. Make sure you get Made, she gives great massages!!!
Candi Dasa does not have a lot to offer in terms of nightlife. There are a few good restaurants though, like the Watergarden Kafe and Kedai, both with excellent food and very affordable.

Kubu Bali was very nice, everything the previous reviewer has said I agree with. Lovely individual thatched bungalows, outdoor bathroom (basic), Indonesian furniture, bathrobes Thought it all looked very clean really until I saw the room boys waiting to come in one morning to clean our room with their basket full of cleaning apparatus, the toilet brush just thrown in with the water bottle, mosquito spray, broom, dusters and cleaning rags........mmmmmm.

We took villa 107 on someone's recommendation because it had a view of the sea, it was delightful. The bed was scattered with flowers on our arrival, which was gorgeous but even better was the next day when the staff formed all the flower petals into 'I ♥ U'

My only criticism - ooh the steps!!! Kubu Bali is set into the side of the mountain and is very steep. There were 130 steps to get to our room and that was after the climb up the driveway. Try this a few times a day in the heat and you realise how sore your knees get when you're not really fit or really young! Another long climb up to the breakfast restaurant and the pool ! Just remember to take everything you need with you so you don't have to go back and then do it all again! Not suitable for older people or the unfit !

I am giving the Kubu Bali an excellent review, because for the price it was far better than anything else I have seen in Bali at that price range (including the Watergarden). The rooms were lovely- individual Bales that were well sealed (to keep mosquitoes out of the rooms). The room (bale) was quite large and the bed was enormous (larger than a King), and the rest of the furniture was quite lovely. There was no TV, but I do believe there was a telephone. The front porch of each Bale also had nice furniture (including a daybed, from which one could lie and take in the view). The view from the room and hotel grounds was stunning. The gardens and swimming pool were well maintained and very attractive. Note that Candidasa has no real beach, so a nice pool area is a must. The hotel was also centrally located in Candidasa. There was also plenty of parking available.
