Fabulous setting looking out onto the ocean. Quiet. Tucked away from the city buzz. Aesthetically beautiful. Clean simple rooms. Restaurant in the hotel was the weakest link but everything else was brill! Friendly staff, fresh brekkie too!

Great hotel, beautiful people! The Candi Beach Cottage is located away from the tourist centre Kuta, so if you are looking for some relaxing and quiet time, this is a great place to book. The price/service is very good. For a good price you will get a perfect hotel with two pools and private beach! The all inclusive package is the best. Everything is included, even some cocktails! It is also a great location for exploring the Bali. We booked a private driver and so many things to see were near to Candidasa. We had beautiful 14 days ( although 10 would have been enough as it is a peaceful place )!

This hotel has absolutely beautiful garden and an amazing pool. The location is good if you do like beach front, but want to avoid the crowds and have a more "private beach" feel. On the other hand-side outside restaurants are quite far away (at least if you're more into walking).
What didn't convince us 100% were the hotel rooms which were quite run down and definitely in need of fresh paint. You could see this especially in the bathroom.
Compared with other balinese hotels we stayed in, the rooms in Candi Beach Cottage were definitely missing the traditional balinese touch. If you forget about the grounds for a moment, you wouldn't be able to tell weather you were really in Bali or any other West European beach resort.
Breakfast was also a bit disappointing.
This is a nice for a round-trip, but not a longer stay.

We spent 14 nights at the hotel and found it a real pleasure. The hotel is very well maintained and the gardens, pool etc are just lovely. Even when the hotel is fully booked it is not crowded. The staff are all great and are extremely helpful and kind at all times. Nothing is too much trouble and everybody greets you with a lovely smile. Although the hotel is located in a very quiet village, it is only 3 km from Candidasa, where you can find many local restaurants and shops and even a supermarket. There are plenty of trips which can be arranged from the hotel to all parts of the island. We found a fabulous driver called Nengah Kasih (081 338 049443) who we hired for 4 days to drive us around the island. He is often called on by the hotel to run the hotel shuttle bus into Candidasa. We cannot recommend this hotel highly enough as it is a far cry from the noise and crowds of other regions of Bali. A massive thank you to Sukandi and all the staff for a great 2 weeks.

We stayed 4 nights in one of the cottages a short walk to the pool area. There are two pools to choose from one has the swim up bar near the restaurant. The gardens are beautiful and the whole place looks out onto the sea very romantic and relaxing. We found that when we were there most of the guests were Germans. The Hotel breakfast was substantial but the usual fare: Cereals, fresh fruit and juices, individually cooked eggs, bacon the tiny sausages, tomatoes etc. or Indonesian foods. Danish pastries etc. tea/coffee. The restaurant food as others have said is far too expensive so walk out of the lobby turn left down a little street pass a shop on the right and other cafe on the left, keep walking until you come to a private compound at the end of the street turn left and walk down towards the beach. There is a little covered in ""beach shack" on your right which has lovely food very reasonably priced good for lunches and on the left is a more upmarket place where we ate our evening meal this too was very reasonable and looked out onto the beach. Can recommend both places. Candi itself is very quiet not much to do costs about 20.000Rp ($3.00 AUD) each way in a taxi from the cottages into the village (1 street) Most restaurants will supply transport to and from if you book a reservation with them. We met a German honeymoon couple who had booked here for 2 weeks but found it just too quiet luckily they managed to transfer to Legian Beach Hotel, Legian (that is the sister hotel to Candi Beach Cottages.) Good spot if you like your own company and can amuse yourself.

Dear Kaos2007,
Thank you very much for choosing our hotel became your accommodation during your last Jun 2010 holiday in Bali. We are very happy to read all your positif comments on Trip Advisor which impressed your thought and experience during stay with us. The area of Candidasa is very relaxing and quite will make people getting fresh and recharge after their holiday. But for those who like in active, they may enjoy alot of activities such as nature village trekking, snorkeling, diving, fishing, bicycling, etc.
This year 2011, we are upgrading our rooms by replacing all bedroom & terrace/balcony tiles with marble. So the rooms feature will be nicer than before. As additional we also replace tv with Flat Screen TV 32" and putting DVD/MP3 player in every room.
We are sure with this all additional facilities will make your next time holiday in Candi Beach Cottage become more enjoyable one. If you wish to send some message/email, you may send directly to me cbcom@candibeachbali.com and I will be very pleased to asnwer your email. We spent 3 nights here in March and it was incredibly charming. We loved it. It is a small resort that has obviously undergone some recent renovations and expansion. There are now 2 pools: the older one is still fine, but the new infinity pool is awesome. We spent a happy time there leaning on the infinity edge, looking out over the ocean.

We reserved a Deluxe Room and followed up the reservation by e-mail asking for a 2nd floor room with a good view. We got exactly what we hoped for. Our room had a spectacular view over the infinity pool and ocean. It could hardly have been any better. The room was so nicely decorated. It oozed charm. It really did look exactly as the rooms appear on the hotel’s website. The balcony was lovely, too, with a very comfortable daybed – perfect for ocean-gazing during the day and star-gazing at night. There is even a clothes drying rack provided on the balcony. How’s that for thoughtfulness?

Our 3 night package included a dinner and that is the only meal we ate in the restaurant, other than the breakfasts. The dinner was OK, but nothing special. The breakfast buffet, too, was OK but nothing special. It seems that restaurant renovations have not happened yet, but since everything else about the hotel has been upgraded, we think that the restaurant is probably next on the list.

The hotel offers a free shuttle to the town area twice a day and it is a good idea to take advantage of this. The hotel is only about 2 or 3 kilometers from the town, which isn’t far, but the weather is hot and there are no sidewalks, so a ride is useful – at least once. After that it’s easy to get free rides – when you walk along the street in town, every restaurant has staff out front who press their brochures into your hands. They all offer free pickups and returns in exchange for eating at their restaurants. When you get ready for lunch or dinner, just call one of them and they’ll send a driver to get you.

This is a charming, peaceful hotel and if we ever go back to Bali, we will definitely go to Candi Beach Cottages again. Until then our memories will have to sustain us.

The Candi Beach Cottages was one of the most romantic places I have ever been. The grounds and the view were spectacular, but as we learned, the view especially was available at a lot of other more cheaper locations. Romance can be had anywhere.

It's not necessary to greet travellers with individual cold towels and then to continue that on with cold towels in the restaurant when ordering. The restaurant is horrendously expensive.

I don't like denying staff work and I did see others take up the expensive hotel offers. Each to their own.
