“Awesome Experience”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 17, 2013

We had 4 nights stay at the Resorte. Amazing huge property. Think is tied up with Thomson Holidays cause there were many Britishers at the time. We happened to go there during the bike week. This 200 hundred room plush resorte doesn't have a parking. Please take note. Although the parking is outside the resorte seems well protected though.
The toileteries were basic. Just a soap! I didnt expect this. The location of the place is perfect 1km from Baga, 7 kms from Anjuna and about 3kms from calangute. We (me,my wife and our 3yr old) has just relaxing on our agenda and we did just that. Spent a lot of time in our basic but clean room with a great view to the pool. the resorte has a privatre lake by the way!
Awesome experience this way. Will love to go to Maurinho Dourada again!

Room Tip: All rooms have a good view to the pools. Take the newer rooms though!

have travelled to Goa approximately 10 times and have had numerous stays at this hotel. Absolutely spotless.Very Friendly hotel.Very clean with superb views of the lake from balcony. A mini bus to and from the Baga beach every hour. Nothing is too much trouble and a special tribute to the manager of the restaurant at breakfast time who supplied me by request, with their local curd which i enjoyed and helped my digestive system. Wouldhave no hesitation in recommending this hotel to anyone.Their are also many restaurants a short walk away for those who like to stroll out of an evening to sample many
local and continental dishes. Hope to visit again soon.

Room Tip: the best rooms available for a quiet and peaceful stay is the ones overlooking the lake. Always requ...

I have been to Goa on 7 occassions and this is the third time we have stayed at this hotel and once again we really enjoyed it - we travelled out on New years Day for three weeks and arrived eary in the morning (3am) The staff are all welcoming and we were given a room on the ground floor in the annex near the pool overlooking the lakes which is a lovely view to wake upto each morning (we had mailed in advance to request this room so thanks to Edwin and his team for booking this for us)

The hotel is close to Baga Beach and there is a shuttle bus that runs every hour to take you to the beach - although i would recommend going further down the beach from Baga to Candolim as we found it to be dirty and very busy. there was a music festival on so this may have been why Baga was very busy for one week of our holiday but this didnt spoil anything for us.

The hotel is very peaceful apart from on a Saturday when the Saturday night market is on with live band playing late into the evening - one night until 2-3am which is very unusual but didnt stop us from sleeping - The market is very very busy and one visit in previous years was enough for us.

I would recommend the sister hotel which you can ask the shuttle driver to drop you off as its just outside Baga. its an eco hotel with gorgeous wooden cottages and a fabulously quiet and clean pool. they made us very welcome and it made a change to the pools busy pool - also people seemed to get up at 7am to put the towels on the sunbeds which seemed very strange as they were English - but i guess some people like to sit in the same place every day! although my only gripe would be that some people put towels on beds and didnt use them until late in the afternoon after going out all day - i found this rude and ignorant as some people couldnt then get a bed in the sun

Breakfast here seems to get some bad reviews but if you like eggs in any form (omelets, scrambled, boiled, fried, poached) your ok - they have perfectly edible cornflakes and filtered coffee - take your own mugs if you like a decent brew in the morning a lot of people do as they return year after year. Plent breads for toast and indian breakfast for the more adventurious.

Overall the hotel is clean and the staff are very welcoming and friendly, rooms have a well stocked fridge restocked as and when required and their prices are not expensive.
Nearby there are some lovely restaurants although this year it was very quiet - i would recommend the Raza which is a few hundred meters up the road - turn left outside the hotel and all spice on the main road where the food is excellent - great curries and excellent value for money.

I would love to go back again but the Indian Givernment seem to be trying to keep the Brtitish away by keep increasing the costs of the visas.

Room Tip: Ask for a room in the annex, great view of the lakes.

Just returned from yet another holiday at this lovely hotel. The staff are great . The hotel is in a great position, close to Baga, Calangute and Candolim. The hotel provide a shuttle on the hour to Baga. There are many great restaurants close by at very reasonable prices. The goan people are fantastic.Cant wait till next year for my return.

Room Tip: I love the rooms above the restaurant .

Here's to January 2014.

I was apprehensive about the mixed review of this resort on booking online. But right from the entrance the property was beautiful and courteous. The lake attached to the property is clean and gives a great view and the boating is also a good leisure activity. The Pool is centrally located and well maintained and the positioning is such that guests can enjoy both the sun as well as shade in and around the pool through the day. The location of the resort is not very near neither very far from baga beach. hourly shuttle services will ferry you to and from the beach in the day. also bikes/cars and taxis are available for hire nearby. The food is good (we tried only the veg) and the room service was also prompt in the evenings poolside restaurant organizes bands karoke etc. which is good
