“Foodie friendly”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 7, 2014

This is a beautiful place for lunch while out at the wineries for a day. The setting and presentation of the food is perfect for any foodie. We didnt love the wines from their personal winery but that's ok since they carry plenty of wines from outside wineries as well. The tomato salad was beautifully unique, the prawn risotto was delicious, and the springbok was very nice. Definitely make reservations ahead of time!

“Random Diner”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 4, 2014

Wow wow wow wow!!!

Excellent food, wine and dessert. Waiter staff were clued up on the food, taste and pairing of wine - as well as a passion for the food. Will definately return. Well worth the money.

“Nice food. Good service. Fab Location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 3, 2014

Overal a very good experience. Why not excellent? The food did not blow us away. It was very tasty, good portion size but something was missing. Can't tell you what.
If you want to to eat a nice meal with great ones in a perfect location, it is a great place to go. If you want to be blown away, go to the Test Kitchen in Cape Town.

“A meal to Forget”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed March 22, 2014

We have dined at Terroir many, many times over a number of years and we always came away thinking that was an experience to remember. However after our last visit the experience is something we want to forget

On arrival there was a mix up with our reservation which was quickly rectified and we ordered our wine, which was served. So far so good. Our order was for three main courses of lamb. We waited a very long time to be served. No one came to serve the wine whilst waiting or to check if everything was OK. When the mains finally arrived one of the meals had to be sent back as it was undercooked despite being ordered as medium/ well done. The lamb for all three servings was so tough that it could not be cut and was not edible. We waited a long time for the plates to be cleared at which time we complained. The manageress did deduct the cost of the wine but this did not address the poor quality of the main courses. Still feeling hungry after the poor main course we ordered deserts and waited such a very long time & it was only after complaining to the manageress were the deserts served.

Our overall opinion, the food quality was poor, the service dismal, a great pity that a restaurant with such a good reputation has lost its way.

“Lovely setting and excellent food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 18, 2014 via mobile

Sitting under aged oak trees, it was a perfect lunchtime setting.
The staff were very helpful explaining the menu in great detail.
The food was beautifully presented and perfectly cooked, perhaps a bit light on the salt. But the combinations were interesting making for a great tasty meal, definitely worth a return visit
