my husband, myself and 20 month year old son stayed here for two nights. We loved the beautiful south and like other reviewers, stayed here because of all the good reviews. The guest house didn't disappoint. The owners are very friendly, helpful and give great suggestions, such as what are the best wineries, restaurants and things to do. We stayed in the upstairs Umdeni Suite(the steps can be a little treacherous for small children), which is quite large and has a sitting room with fold out sofa. This was a good choice for us as it gave my super active son more room to run around. The bathroom was very nice with large soaking tub and separate shower.Staff are super friendly. They didn't mind my intrusion into their kitchen to heat up my son's oatmeal. The breakfast is great. Lovely continental spread with homemade bread and a hot item that changes daily. One of the days we were there, we had the avocado dream(roasted tomato with avocado). Yum! We brought our swim suits since the pool was open in late april, but it was just too cold for us. For value, this is one of the best hotels we stayed at. You can't beat the price for value. The only thing is that the guest house is in more suburban stellenbosch and it's easier to get around by car. would definately stay here again. We didn't have time to do this, but the owners organize a tour, where you can visit one of the schools in the local township. Also, there is an honesty bar in the main room, where a fridge is stocked with snacks, wine,etc at a reasonable price.
