Regretfully, we only stayed one night in Stellenbosch, which is a fantastic college town. The Beautiful South is conveniently located in a quiet, residential part of town, and only a short walk to campus, restaurants, etc. The house is beautifully decorated, immaculately clean, with a wonderful garden and pool. We stayed in the Austin Powers room, which I suspect is a little smaller and more informal than the others, but we loved it and the eccentric decor! Breakfast was more than we could ask for, served poolside in the garden. Katarina was a gracious host; we could've chatted with her for much longer it we hadn't an itinerary to stick to! Next time we plan to devote at least a few days to Stellenbosch and the surrounding area.

Like another reviewer we too were only around for one night but would love to have stayed longer. Peter and Katarina are wonderful hosts and the house is just gorgeous, and well-positioned just a short and lovely walk into town. Recommended with absolutely no hesitation.

We have recently returned from South Africa and would highly recommend The Beautiful South. The other positive comments on TripAdvisor are all absolutely true! Peter and Katarina are wonderful hosts and the comfort and enjoyment of their guests is their top priority. They have a great knowledge of the local area and are happy to spend time suggesting places to visit (we were delighted by all their recommendations!). Thanks also to Luzanne who could not have been more helpful. The house is located in an ideal part of town - quiet and leafy - and is a pleasant and safe 15/20 minute walk into the centre but driving and parking is very straighforward if that's what you prefer. It's an ideal first destination after arriving at Cape Town airport (about 30 mins) and of course is a great base for exploring the winelands; if you can tear yourselves away from the pool and the lovely garden. We would be delighted to return!

Absolutely perfect place to stay. Hosts are amazingly welcoming and helpful. The rooms are excellent value for money and the pool / garden is as beautiful as the photo's show. We would happilly have stayed here for a couple of weeks. It's an excellent location for anyone wanting to explore Stellenbosch area / golf trips anything. Cannot rate it highly enough.
