I had a very nice stay at De Kraal in mid January 2006. The Hotel is situated on the road from Stellenbosch to Franschoek about 7kms outside Stellenbosch; nestled between the Simonsberg and the Groot Drakenstein mountains.
All 12 appartments contain fully-equipped kitchens; our room even had a washing machine. They each have a front porch or a veranda. There is a Weber grill
available for barbecuing/braaing. The spacious rooms are in separate little houses scattered around the bottom of the spacious grounds. There is a cute pool with a view further up the hill as well as a floodlit tennis court. The charming and lush garden itself used to be a protea farm and has been redesigned to include a couple of water features including a little boating pond further up
the hill.
Great for families with kids or for a secluded getaway.
Close to Thelema, Tokara and Delaire wine estates.
