“I was impressed”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 10, 2012

Let's start by mentioning that my husband works close by and he often purchases petit poussins from here for us. In addition, he favours this restaurant as a morning meeting spot once a week, so I was curious to go there when my son had a craving for an egg benedict the other day. With both my son and I being intolerant to wheat, I am often wary of reastaurant breakfasts, as a breakfast with no bread kind of defies the purpose for me. Much to my surprise, they had 100 percent rye bread, so already they got a nod from me. Breakfast was great (although the rye was toasted a bit too hard on the edges, but I can overlook that on my first visit). The service was good- not outstanding, but friendly, and as it was a relaxed Saturday morning, we were not in a hurry. The Salmon surprise on rye was lovelly and a very large portion, beautifully presented. My son and husband loved their eggs benedict and even had space for some of my salmon as the portion was just too large for me to finish. I will definitely go back for the food and give them a chance to get the rye toasted correctly and brought to the table at the same time as the other plates of food. As for the emporium- loved it. The most interesting jars filled with the most divine ingredients. Love the presentation, the look and feel of the store. They stock produce such as fresh mussels, rock lobster, caviar, snails, smoked meat products, quails, free range ducks, pigeons, rabbits, truffels, olive oils, french cheeses and Spanish Air dried meats. A food-lovers dream! So at this point in time, my 'excellent' rating is for the emporium and I hope soon, for the restaurant as well, as I will be going back.

“Always good food at Wild Peacock”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 12, 2012

We stopped here for a quick lunch the other day, and were pleased as always. The food is always good at the Peacock, and the servers are friendly and helpful. Their shelves are stocked with unusual products (in a good way), and their fresh breads and meat pies are always great. Their wine shop seems to be improving by the month, and is a treat to meander through once you've put in your food order. Their kitchen is a bit slow in getting food out once ordered, but at least it's very tasty when it does arrive.

“Delicious Eggs Benedict”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 18, 2012

Absolutely delicious eggs benedict. Very tasty and fresh ingredients. Excellent value for money!
The hot chocolate made with hot milk and chocolate pieces served on the side for you to melt in the cup on your own is such a lovely way of presenting the drink.
To top it off, the deli foods looked so good we even took away some mini chicken pies for dinner.
