“Divine vibrant bar in Stellenbosch with style.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 24, 2013

I recently was at Asara for wine tasting, and ended up at Sansibar - Asara for drinks. The perfect spot for whiskey and cognac connoisseurs. A mix of young and old, TV for sport fantatics, big wood fire to keep you warm in winter, a drinks menu comparitable to the Basculle Bar at Cape Grace, and a large round artistic ice machine to impress - all contributed to a lovely day in the winelands.

“Fantastic value for money breakfast”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 13, 2013

We had a fabulous breakfast, twice, at Asara during our week-long holiday in Stellenbosch. There is a hot breakfast option at R85 and cold breakfast (buffet) option for R80. The buffet isn't extensive, but it makes up for it in quality. Considering what we paid for breakfast at other establishments in the Stellenbosch region, this is very good value for money and you simply can't beat the view. This is an absolutely beautiful estate.

“STUNNING VIEWS”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 28, 2013

The tapas is more affordable versus the main restaurant which was rather pricey and empty!! Sit outside and enjoy the views. Wines extensive but not cheap.

“What a Find!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 4, 2013

Unexpected detour brought our family to this delightful setting - what a wonderful setting between the vineyards with the distant mountains to boot! Spent six hours lounging in the delightful bar and restaurant - friendly helpful staff, beautiful decor, largest selection of single malt whiskeys to choose from in Africa - wine, etc. etc. Good bar menu for the munchies - and then we went to the restaurant next door - even better - Go! Go! Go!

“Somptuous”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 3, 2013

To come up here is a long distance from the main road down. Nice little shop where to stop for shoping real good stuffs. Bread, pastries, and a number of quality items. Afterwoods, the place looked to us a bit business like. Down the tasting room we weren't be able to stay so difficult it was.
Probably a toilet drain failed apart. No thank you ......
We went outside on the terace and next a piece of water to enjoy delicious tapas and a wine tasting in better condition
