“Really enjoyed our stay at Augusta Kleinbosch”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 5, 2012

Highly recommended. Augusta is such a beautiful, historical place. Laetitia, Erica, Francois and Susan really made us feel welcome. We will be back. The breakfasts are very good with both cold and hot options well prepared and beautifully presented by chef Ronelle. Susan is the face of the restaurant and goes out of her way to make a difference. There was no avo (took a chance requesting it) but Susan recalled some were picked off the tree and stored wrapped in newspaper - sure enough one was ripe! There is a lot of history at Augusta and Francois was quite happy to take us on a short guided tour of the Gedenkschool and historical graveyard. The pool is large and the area is great for relaxing and reading. We attended a concert at a nearby farm and the restaurant insisted on making us a picnic to take along which was much appreciated.

Our team has a wonderful stay and experience during our Team Building event last weekend. Erica went out of her way to make us all feel welcome and even assigned rooms to us that suited our personalities! The food was great and they made an effort to accommodate our halaal food requirements for one of the people in the team. We mostly had exclusive right to the venue for the weekend, which was great as we used most of the farm facilities for our different activities without interfering with other Guests. There was also a power cut on the Sunday, but this did not really impact us much as our activities were all outside anyway. They also went out of their way to help us setup karaoke for the Saturday evening after dinner; which proved most entertaining for both our team and the staff.

Room Tip: The Hen House was quiet and sweet, Room 3 had a huge fireplace, room 2 was very large with a big fou...

My friend and i stayed at Augusta due to its proximity to our farm , with no real expectations of the accomodation , although we know our stay would have been comfortable .
However , it exceeded our expectations....... there was no power for an entire day and the srtaff managed to turn that aspect into an advantage by lighting fires and candles and serviing us the best meal we've had in a long time , whilst discounting our rae in half for the inconvenience of no electricity. Whilst the dinner was subperb , the breakfast was even better , no gourmet food , jut well prepared and well cocoked with a lot of flavour and nourishing .The staff was most professional and freindly , giving us a personalised caring experience .
Augusta Klenbosch will now be our preferred place of stay in the Paarl Drakenstein area.

Being constantly on the travel for many years - booking into all sorts of guest houses and hotels - I can only mention that visiting Augusta Kleinbosch Guest Farm has always been a very pleasant experience for me - a beautiful and peaceful environment, and friendly staff around. Yet, some people will always find something to moan about - maybe they should stay home and enjoy all the luxuries in and around their "5 star houses". I'll be back again, thats for sure.

Our family like to travel outside Cape Town to get away from the hustle and bustle of life and used the opportunity that presented itself when Augusta advertised their special. This farm with their special team of people have now become our favourite place and it will be hard for us to go stay somewhere else. Every single person, including the other members of the family(the dogs), made us feel so welcome and saw to our every need. We have two children, two and 9 months and they were treated like a king and queen and they two loved everybody and did not want to go home. It is a farm with a rich history and the people living there go out of their way to conserve what they know is special and we appreciate that.
Thank you to Laeticia and her team for making our weekend special and I highly recommend staying there as it felt like home away from home as the space and the people are truly exceptional. You shall defnitely see us again.

The guest house is not a 4 star rated accommodation.
Thing they must seriously look at.
dogs all over near breakfast area
no wireless internet in rooms, not enough hangers in cupboards.
no Dstv, only the 4 local channels
Garden need plenty of attention
no prices on dinner menus
Cannot receive a invoice due to printer without ink

Kleinbosch, Manager at Augusta Kleinbosch Guest Farm, responded to this review, April 29, 2011
At Augusta Kleinbosch we always strive to give our guests the best experience possible and therefore find it regrettable that Mr. Lodewyk did not enjoy his stay.
The family decided to enjoy their breakfast outdoors. Kleinbosch is a farm and our dogs are part of the farm animals. The dogs also contribute to security. The dogs do not go into the restaurant/ breakfast room but do move around on the farm and therefore might be at an outdoors area where guests decide to enjoy their meals. Most of our guests feel that the dogs contribute to the relaxing farm atmosphere but we realize that this might not be for everybody.
We do not have full Dstv but some Dstv channels are provided. We would have gladly assisted if the guest informed us that he had problems switching channels on a TV set.
We have wireless internet in five of the nine rooms as well as in the lounge. We are in the process of extending this to the building where Mr. Lodewyk stayed.
The guest informed us that the family has many pieces of clothing that need to be on hangers. Extra hangers were promptly provided.
The farm was established in 1692. The garden at Kleinbosch boasts plants and trees of more than 300 years of age. The informal garden was developed around these plants and trees. We realize that this type of garden might not be to the taste of someone who likes structured gardens.
We did run out of ink, but offered to mail it to Mr Lodewyk, which we have done. The prices on the blackboard were not entered that was our mistake.
