“Good value”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 4, 2011

On our return to Oudtshoorn this was the only new to us restaurant that we tried. It is not fine dining and the setting is rustic but the food was good (excellent Kudu) with an Italian slant of pizzas and pastas as well and the portions generous.

“Stunning meal, value galore.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 5, 2011

My sister and I are regular KKNK visitors and we always make a point of visiting different restaurants. Bello Cibo was excellent from start to to finish, lovely starter, very tasty main meal to decadent creme brulee. Thank you for a very enjoyable evening.

“Good recommendation”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 10, 2011

Very good meal and they even moved us to an outside table when one became available.

Booking is essential here as it is very popular and after eating there I know why.

Very good value for money and excellent service

“A new favorite on our short list”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 14, 2011

This week we spent three nights in Oudtshoorn and had dinner twice at Bello Cibo. Having seen it listed as Italian, we arrived expecting pizza and pasta, what we found was world class food. We enjoyed our meal so much the first time, we had to come back for our remaining night in town.

We’ve been traveling the world with our children, and have shared meals as a family in twelve countries. There have only been a few experiences that have been remarkable enough to post a review about, and Bello Cibo has just joined our list. We sat together at the end of our second dinner talking about the handful of really outstanding meals we’ve shared, and how some things seem to come as a surprise. This is a restaurant we’ll remember, even if we never make it back to Oudtshoorn.

Yes, the menu at Bello Cibo has pizza and spaghetti, but also more interesting and unique fare with an Italian twist. As you might expect in the Ostrich capitol of the world, the big birds have made the menu, along with some game like kudu and warthog. A favorite of ours was the ostrich carpaccio with lemon and capers.

We tend to all order something different and share tastes, so we can sample a broader range of the menu. Over our two nights, we tried several entrees and salads, and a couple of hors d’oeuvres, as well. The flavors were distinct and delicious. We always feel it is a sign of a great restaurant when they can deliver meals that all taste very different and yet are all very good to remarkable.

The restaurant itself is simple in décor, has nice outdoor dining, and some fun artwork. Not trendy, just really great food at a decent price. Very impressive place.
