Ideal place to break the garden route.

In July we stayed at the Overmeer Guest House for 1 night during the oyster festival, and it was truly a memorable stay!

The staff were professional and helpful. Our room was both luxorius and spacious. Clean and of a very high standard decorated with an African theme with a few local pieces on display. The view of the lagoon was superb and the large balcony enabled us to enjoy some wonderful sundowners.

Being a personal chef I was pleased to see that the high standards were kept up at the breakfast table. The selection was excellent with plenty of fresh produce to choose from.

Our only regret is that we could only stay for one night on this trip. We look forward to the next time!

This place was recommended to us by a friend who had previously stayed there and it was lovely. Only stayed there 1 night but would have stayed there longer if we had time. The rooms were lovely, with big balcanies over looking the lagoon. Staff were very nice too and recommended a lovely restaurant (Sirrocos I think I was spelled.)

Having visitors from Norway in Cape Town, we decided to take road trip to the Garden Route to show them this area and its charms. A collegue who had recently returned from Knysna suggested several restaurants to visit as well as an overnight stop at Overmeer Guest House so deciding to pamper ourselves, we found it high up on the ridge above the town overlooking Knynsa Lagoon. Ludwig and Riette made us feel very much at home without being obtrusive and I found that this approach carried through to all the staff as well. I felt so special in my enormous room with its own jacuzzi, from which I could see the lagoon, and kingsized bed! The breakfast buffet was ample with the option of a full breakfast as well. I would have liked to have seen more fish though. For dinner we visited 34 Degrees South on Thesen Island, a seafood deli which had a fantastic atmosphere and really good food. Next trip I would love to spend more time at the guest house and use it as a base for short trips in the area which has so much to offer.
