“Scenic Trip !”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 30, 2013

This is a must do on your trip to Knysna ! This activity involves a short ferry ride from waterfront to the reserve. The guide keeps you entertained with facts about Knysna and surrounding areas on the trip.

Once you arrive at the reserve, the truck (along with trailers) takes you up to one of the famous Knysna heads from where you can get an excellent view of the river and the ocean. Get set for a 2 km walk down the hill and along the coast to get back to the starting point. Along the route you get to explore various vantage points and caves.

The leisurely walk provides amazing scenic view of the beautiful area. Some trips also include lunch at the restaurant on the reserve.

“Highly recommended”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 25, 2013

The visit to the Featherbed Nature Reserve was brilliant. The hike down the mountain was not at all strenuous and we were able to see fantastic views of the coastline and Heads. The buffet lunch was very nice and our guide was very good giving us lots of useful information about the area. I would thoroughly recommend a visit here if you are staying in, or passing through, the Knysna area.

“Must do in Knysna”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 21, 2013

As always, a delightful way to spend the afternoon in Knysna. Fun for the kids, from the ferry ride across to the tractor ride up the mountain and then the hike down again. Magnificent views and beautiful scenery. Oliver, our guide, was knowledgeable and witty!

“Lovely Hike”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 13, 2013

We visited for the afternoon after a relaxing cruise over on the lagoon from Knysna. You are taken up on trailers to the peak of the reserve and have an easy hike down with many stunning view points of the Heads and a beautiful cove leading out to the Indian Ocean. We were also lucky enough to see a Tortoise passing our trailer on the drive up!
