We had a very enjoyable stay in the Log Inn. It was very welcoming and the staff were very friendly. Breakfast had a good variety of options and was very nice. It is just a short walk from the waterfront and from some nice restaurants. Some of the decor is perhaps a little bit dated but it was really clean and comfortable.

What a wonderful experience. The staff are friendly and helpful, especially Zuki on reception, wow what a cheerful warm welcome, especially as our party had not booked accommodation and were purely a walk-in The Log-Inn captures the essence of the Garden Route forests with it's imposing timber staircase and log finished exterior. The rooms were spotless and well appointed, and the beds comfortable. Breakfast was great, but the cheeseboard on offer was disappointing in that it did not offer any of the great cheeses handcrafted produced in the area. The Hotel is well situated in the centre of town and it is an easy walk to both the main street and Knysna Waterfront. Restaurants are aplenty in the street leading down to the Waterfront. An added bonus is the off street parking. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this unpretentious 4* hotel and will certainly be back.

Dear PPPEssexEngland

Thank you for the great review of the Knysna Log-Inn Hotel.

Petro and her team of cleaning ladies, do an excellent job in cleaning the rooms. I would be lost without her.

With all the great fresh fruit and produce available in South Africa, it is not too difficult to have a great breakfast available for our guests - seeing that breakfast is (apparently..!) the most important meal of the day.

The Knysna Log-Inn is rather unique as it is built entirely out of wood. I can still remember the first time I entered the foyer with the huge stained glass windows, the yellowwood pillars and the awesome stairs and hammer trusses in the ceiling - and that is many years ago.

We look forward to welcoming you back to the hotel with many friends in the not so distant future.

Kind regards

On our arrival we were welcomed with open arms, as if we were family that had been gone for a long time and now we had come home. That is myself and my team as we had stayed there the year before. We visit Knysna once a year during the Oyster Festival to do fundraising for the NSRI. We often stand in ice cold weather and it is marvelous coming back to the Log Inn where it is so warm and everything is so clean. Marti and Martin and all the staff are extremely helpful and will do whatever they can to make your stay memorable. Bed linen is always clean and crispy fresh. Breakfast is consistently delicious. The Hotel is situated very central. Once you park your car you can walk everywhere. We thank everybody from Knysna Log Inn. It was awesome. We are definitely going back.

Dear Mathilda

Thank you for the great review!

You and your team from NSRI, feel like family to us and you make it easy and a pleasure to have you staying in the hotel.

Every year we look look forward to having the NSRI team stay with us. You and the team do an amazing job - I take my hat off to you. It cannot be easy to be on your feet the whole day in the wind, rain and sometimes heat to try and get funds for the NSRI and Sea Rescue. Many people do not realise what a great and important role the NSRI and Sea Rescue play in saving many lives on and near the sea.

As you know, most of our staff have been here for 8 years and longer - some even started here when the hotel opened in 1998!

We look forward to having you and the team stay with us next year during the Oyster Festival in July.

But, you do not have to wait till then to visit us again.

Kindest regards

Perfectly situated for waterfront and knysna shopping. Nice large and very clean room with bath and shower. Very good breakfast. Off street secure parking.
Air con heater worked well. Highly recommend this place for a short stay. There is a pool and jacuzzi which we didn't use but would in summer

Dear Cyndy Purchase

Thank you for taking the time to do this excellent review of the Knysna Log-Inn Hotel.

As you mentioned, the Knysna Log-Inn is ideally situated to explore the town on foot - no parking problems!

Petro, the executive housekeeper, and her team, really are the best.

They say (whoever they are..?) that an army marches on its stomach, well, we feel a guest holidays of his/her stomach and deserves a great breakfast to ensure there is enough in the tank for the day.

We look forward to your next visit, in summer (!), to make use of the pool and Jacuzzi.

Kind regards
