Comfy rooms, very clean, Fredrick is a very nice host, good wifi Internet if you require it, close to the good beach on leisure island. But for town you need to get a taxi really it's a longish walk. Would stay again for sure.

Pleasant and secure location, and a welcoming host in Frederick. We were three in a 'family room', but the accommodation was cramped and the third bed was a Z-bed. The room really needed A/C, as we only had a small fan which was not up to the job. The bathroom was very small, and the shower was not brilliant: its head needs renewing! Some confusion also about breakfast: we booked it, but were told it was unavailable - although Frederick did give us coffee and juice gratis. All just a tad tired, we felt....

You need a car for this place as its a bit away from things but worth it. Nice little car park at the back if driving as we are. Apparently we had the worst room in the guest house but found it perfectly good. Comfy bed and pillows, quite thought the day if you are around and big open bar area upstairs.
Breakfast was good, pumpkin seed bread was a nice touch. The cooked breakfast was okay and there were lots of teas as options.
I went for a run from the guest house around leisure island which is a perfect early morning run too.
Would I stay here again? Yes. Fredrick the host is very friendly and made us very welcome on our stay.

We stayed for one night and Frederick made us very welcome and helped us on where to go and what to do. The room was very reasonably priced but i felt it needed a little bit of work - our safe was broken, the bathroom blind off its hinges and one plug socket didn't work. However at the price we paid we were happy, the room was clean, the bed comfortable and the bathroom huge. The guest house is a 10 minute drive to the heads and 15 minutes to the waterfront. Unfortunately it rained constantly whilst we were there but even in the rain it was apparent that Knysna is a very beautiful place.

My stay of 5 days was perfect. The hospitality, kindness and excellent facilities are unbeatable. At Herons Guest House you immediately feel at home; the area is peaceful and quiet, the rooms are neat and modern furnished, the bathrooms are convenient and spacious and the breakfasts are superb! Thanks for a wonderful time!

Our stay at Heron's Guest House was an unforgettable experience. The staff went the extra mile to make us feel welcome and the amenities were comfortable.

Lovely guest house to visit. The owner is friendly and really made it a nice place to stay for a few days. The breakfast was good, also the rooms were nice. And eventhough you do not have the feeling that it is chirstmas, Frederic and his lovely decorations make you feel that it is christmas. It is a place to where you feel at home when you are far away from home.
