We stopped by for a cup of coffee on a rainy day and the Savannah Cafe was packed, but we weren't ignored. This place has a gem of a manager/front of house guy. He's on top of things, has a great sense of humour, and we didn't have to wait long for a table. Great atmosphere, fab service, yummy cakes, so we went back the next day for lunch. The menu is fairly extensive with plenty to choose from to make everyone happy. The breakfasts range from R25 for anchovy toast to R75 for the "whale of a breakfast" which is a full cooked brekkie with 2 eggs, bacon, mushrooms tomatoes etc plus coffee/tea. Frittata, eggs benedict, wraps, plus savoury pancakes can be had. Lunches range from wraps for around R65, burgers from R60, to hake and chips for R65 etc. There are 5 different salads for about R65: chicken, butternut, smoked salmon, or caesar. The wine list, specialising in local wines, was cleverly laid out in price order.
This place is a keeper - mostly because they are happy to have you as a customer!
