“Stunning view”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 27, 2013

Went there with my family, including Mum and Dad. Was a very pleasant evening. The service was great, food was very good but its the venue and the views that really make it what it is.

You can see miles and miles of Indian ocean and its quite breathtaking. All together a very pleasant evening out.

“The setting is magnificent, unfortunately not the service nor food”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 4, 2013

Our second visit, we like the place so much that we suggested to our friend this would be a perfect place to celebrate their wedding. What a beautiful spot and a BIG let down ! Although booked in advance, newly wed were not greeted in this manner (or any), the table was not set in any special way to celebrate this occasion and the waiter assigned to look after us was possible the most inexperience there ! Very polite, but from the start, everything had to be explained 3 times, would bring 2 glasses for water when we wanted bottled water for whole table (party of 7), forgot champagne glasses, struggled through the whole lunch with basics. The food was another let down. Plates and food came cold, bland, chips raw and if you order the seafood platter stating on the menu that there is also crab -you will get 1 crab stick !!! No one wanted to complain or spoil the festive mood with respect to newly wed couple who treated us to this lunch....
If I am in the area again especially with a visitor to SA, will like to come and enjoy a glass of wine as for the view and the loveliness of the place, pity the food and service doesn't do justice .

“Amazing view food not so great”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 28, 2013

Had breakfast and I was taken back to Saturday breakfast at hostel. The scrambled eggs were watery and white. The place has so much potential, pity. Bathroom did not have soap, just such a no in a restaurant!

“Tranquility from up high”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 18, 2013 via mobile

A small restaurant with a relaxed atmosphere and friendly service - a good place to linger whilst exploring the beauty of the Garden Route. Food (and wine) is good, affordable and the view, looking down on Harolds Bay, is magnificent. Recommended for the tourist looking for a place to stop over for the night, or interrupt the journey for a short rest.

“Restaurant at Dutton's Cove excellent”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 1, 2013 via mobile

Lovely views of Herold's Bay. Sit outside if you can. We had the seafood platter - good variety and very tasty! Prices reasonable. Book in high season otherwise you will wait very long for a table. Will definitely visit again!
