“Nice but not good value”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 27, 2011

The rooms are very nice and large but the "seaview" is distant - not great for sitting outside on the balcony. Fantastic bathrooms!
Air Conditioning was not good as we struggled to cool the room down enough.
The rooms are expensive - for the rates that are charged one expects perfection, which was unfortunately not delivered.
Buffet Restaurant was distinctly average - nothing bad but nothing extremely good either.
Overall not a bad experience but I don't think I would return because there is definitely better "value of money" available in the area.

Room Tip: make sure you get a room with sea view on the top floor so that you look over the buildings in front...

Went here as part of a conference. Excellent everything. Loved it and will be back!

Room Tip: One with a view of the sea in the main hotel

4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 16, 2011

A 5 star experience, except for the really hard bed. We opted for the "game drive" package on the hotel's website: room, breakfast and game drive for two. The staff was very friendly and helpful with our tour planning. The resort is reasonably close to the George airport, and located out in picturesque countryside overlooking the Indian Ocean in the distance. The restaurant is excellent, and we enjoyed a fine dinner and a good breakfast buffet (anyway, no other food option is close). The included afternoon game drive to the nearby (30 min.) Botlierskop private game reserve was an exciting introduction to our nature experience in South Africa. Viewing the wide range of animals up close on this moderate sized park was awesome. Their Range Rovers accommodate 12 people, more crowded than other safari experiences we later had. Be prepared for a rough ride on hilly roads. Overall, an outstanding experience.

Room Tip: Even the lesser expensive rooms are luxurious.

We stayed here the first night of our honeymoon and what a venue! Absolutely stunning views of the ocean and golfcourse. The hotel room was exceptionally luxurious and upon return from dinner we found a lovely hot bath had been drawn with petals scattered in the bath and on the floor. Plus a lovely bottle of sparkling was chilled for us!
The Spa was amazing, just a quick facial and foot massage was had but really divine!
Unfortunately due to an early flight we did not have breakfast but can imagine that it would also have been superb!
We will definitely return to the Hyatt!

We had two nights here and one round of golf. We were very lucky that in the middle of winter the weather was superb.
Very helpful staff and lovely rooms - just a pity the rooms do not overlook the golf course
We would go back - take full advantage of the winter specials and stay here for a very reasonable price, which includes golf.

A truly great property, located off the beaten track and appointed in the most luxurious style. A spa,a golf course, nearby beach and just the most fantastic rooms, pay for the suite, great views, wonderful space and superb facilities. Awesome gym, great running track along the golf course. Superb food and attentive service in the Waterside Restaurant. Exceptional breakfasts from 7 am - 11am in La Cucina. Superb attentive and willing staff. Great cycle rides on and off road abound in the area. Go for a weekend, stay an extra day or two!
