“Music and Food in Beautiful setting”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 15, 2013

We had such a great time listening to the Blues band they had playing. Unfortunately it was a rainy day, but the outside terrace is lovely for a relaxed lunch with good views of the vinyards.
We had the bread with different dips....amazing especially the aubergine dip!
Ribs was good. The estate wine goes well and at a very good price, thanks for a good time.

“Nice bistro”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 8, 2013

Simon's was a pleasant lunch time spot with a good bistro selection, salad and steak sandwich were very nice and reasonable for the prices. Don't expect haute cuisne, but the courtyard is lovely and chilled out and a great place for a casual lunch or dinner.

“Pleasantly surprised.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 27, 2013

We haven't been to Simons for quite a while and didn't have any expectations. I always make a booking before visiting a restaurant and it was just as well that we did as a number were turned away for not having the same foresight. The open air seating was well laid out and the atmosphere was pleasant. We shared a Summer Salad as a starter. There were 4 of us and the salad was more than sufficient and superb to boot. As a main course, 2 had the blackened fish (Cape Salmon) which was perfectly cooked, one had the blackened sirloin and one had the Salmon. The portions were huge and more than we could cope with. We left well satiated and will definitely return. Ensure that you are starved before visiting as the portions are exceptionally generous.

“Worst restaurant on our trip”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed January 25, 2013

During a longer stay in Cape Town three years ago this was one of my favorite restaurants, so I was looking forward to going back. What a disappointment. The service was slow, excruciatingly slow and inept, this despite it being half empty (during high-season this should be a warning). The seafood platter was terrible. The fish, rock lobster, and mussels were inedible, my son's pasta was a plate of greasy pasta. The bathroom was dirty. Very nice surroundings though, the vineyard is beautiful. The other restaurant on the same property is much much better, incomparably superior.

Set in a vineyard - just perfect. food wine and service was very good and sitting outside on a beautiful sunny day just made it. Booking is essential
