“"Big Smiles Friendly Service: - Great Food"”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 5, 2014

Our day was greeted with rain but the forecast said it was to clear.
Deciding to drive out to Simonstown to "get away" for a while we pulled into Black Marlin for lunch. Because of the unpredictable weather there was only one other table outside. Now having a choice we choose one with the best views across False Bay.

Paddy (Our Waiter) and welcomer meet was a gem. His eager smile and a welcoming disposition was a pleasure to experience and the Warm welcome we expect to always get when frequenting a restaurant was incredible.

We ordered a bottle of Boschendal Blanc De Noir (R135) and starters. (West Coast Mussels and Prawn Spring Rolls) both were fresh, tasty and was just enough to get the appetite going on finalising our main course options we waited a maximum of 10 minutes before they arrived. What a treat both to the eye and the stomach, the seafood was presented was delicious and filling. We could not fault the dishes at all. Our afternoon was rounded off with a Dessert Trio which was incredible.

Thanks Guys and Well Done. We will be back perhaps for Mothers Day..

“Beautiful as ever”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 3, 2014

I always like to come back to this restaurant, as the view is stunning, atmosphere relaxing and the food excellent. My group says it is a fish to remember and I agree. Seafood plater excellent and Kingklp to die for.

“Early Lunch”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 1, 2014

arrived without reservation and got a table, though all window tables reserved and unavailable. Food and service good, though we did arrive prior to a few tour buses so having looked at other reviews maybe we were lucky on timing! Would go again but ensure timing to avoid big buses!

“Superb view, reasonably priced food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 23, 2014

The highlight of our trip was a private airshow right next to the restaurant... We arrived just after a bushfire had started above the road towards Simonstown. Given the brisk southeasterly wind that was blowing towards the houses on the outskirts of Simonstown, it was no surprise that Working on Fire deployed helicopters and aircraft to water bomb the flames.

Aside from the airshow, the coffee, tea and cakes (superb baked cheesecake and wonderful chocolate cake) were good.

The view over False Bay is stunning.
