I certainly felt the "retro" feel of the 1970s when I walked in for dinner............ the anticipation that John Travolta appear at any moment, still wearing his frilly shirt and flares was fun to play with. I am a bit surprised by reviews that refer to the romantic nature of Pigalle. I felt the opposite - it is a great place to enjoy good food and have a relaxing, enjoyable evening but I would rather go to Fork if I wanted a romantic ambience. If you like your restaurants to be very contemporary or hip, I don't think this is the place for you - try Don Pedro's in Woodstock. The cabaret artist at Pigalle is great, the restaurant management attentive and our waitress was a font of all knowledge on the specifics of the menu. The restrooms were very clean. Yes, it is pretty pricey, both for the food and the wine but, if this is for a birthday or similar, it is definitely worth giving it a spin - you will have a memorable experience. Don't think I need to go back there (so many other place to try in CT) but really pleased that I booked it.
