This jewel has been operating for 25 years. I have been going there for many years, and every time the whole experience is breathtaking. The interior takes you back to Istanbul, with painted fresco's, old carpets and beautiful lamps. It has been nominated as one of the most romantic restaurants. Service is unbelievable, from the time you walk in untill you leave. Waiters are professional and friendly, and always prepared to go the extra mile. The owner's inviting smile makes you feel at home at once. The food is from out of this world! Waiters walking around with huge trays, filled with mouth watering mezzes. Too much to choose from. The smell of freshy baked Turkish breads hangs in the air, and you cannot resist to have some of it. The main cources are big portions, so do not fear to go home on an empty stomach. The aromas of cumin, chilli, garlic gives you a wonderful sense of deja vue. Now if you have a sweet tooth - GOOD LUCK! Honey soaked baklava, Turkish rice pudding, orange wedgs with bayleaves are but a very few to mention.
The wines they serve is of the best found in South Africa, but if you rather would like to endulge more in the flavours of Turkey, I would highly recommend the coctails made of rose water and Turkish delight.
I would highly recommend this restaurant, specially for those who loves good food and service!
