“Fantastic Experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 21, 2012

We took a tour with Mervyn on Easter Monday and it was quite simply superb!

Arranging the tour was trivial, just a trip to the desk in the V&A, many thanks to Amanda for sorting it all out seamlessly for us.

We took in 5 different wineries and got to see all ends of the Spectrum from the grandure of La Motte to the quaint and atmospheric Muratie (a great little winery, well worth the visit).

Lunch was similarly excellent (I'd love to know how Mervyn got on with trying to recreate that brilliant Melanzane Parmigiana that my wife and him had...).

Overall a really well-organised, perfectly paced tour and well worth the money! Many thanks to the team for making it another enjoyable day in an excellent holiday.

“How to get more from a visit to Cape Town. The Winedesk.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 19, 2012

Although I live in the Garden Route area of South Africa, I had to find a way of getting the most out of a visit to Cape Town, during my daughters' visit, Jan/Feb, this year. I was recommended to talk to Ligia, at the Winedesk, who asked what sort of things the girls would like to do and went on to make suggestions. we discussed options, and settled on a full day tour of Franschoek, visiting a fabulous winery, set in the most beautiful grounds and, together with our knowledgable guide, tasted a vide variety of it's produce, followed by a visit to the shop to buy some examples, to take back to the UK. We then went on to the most gorgeous wine farm, for lunch, with a lovely view across the valley and hills, around Franschoek. On to the lovely town proper, with lovely shops, tasteful and relaxed and perfect for a browse. We drove back through Stellenbosch, again a lovely town and returned to the Waterfront, to thank Ligia for a perfect day and to pick up the car. Next year, Ligia will be organising a couple of trips for us. If anyone has thier finger on the pulse of what's great in Cape Town, it's the guys at Winedesk. Great value. Thank you so much.

“Perfect Birthday Treat”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 14, 2012

We left it rather late to book over the bank holiday weekend for the Franschoek Lifestyle tour and initially there was no space, however the lady at the Cape Town information desk called us back a few hours later having found us a guide for the day. We had David all to ourselves for the same price. David was a great guide, cheerful. eager to please and very knowledgeable about local history. He managed to get us a table at La Petit Ferme at the last minute where we enjoyed an amazing lunch in beautiful surroundings. It was a very relaxing and fun day (just what I wanted for my birthday) and to top it off David went out of his way to stop at Milnerton beach at sunset so we could get some photos of table mountain. Great service, great day

“Simply the best! Great wine experience - highly recommended!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 11, 2012 via mobile

When we first looked at the Wine Desk on Tripadvisor we were rather impressed by the positive tone of the reviews. Knowing that we would be in Cape Town for just over a week, which included the long easter weekend, we decided to go for it. In good time we did so and thanks once again Tripadvisor for leading us in the right direction. There is one word to discribe the service we received: brilliant!! After an initial exchange of emails, Ligia was extremelly expedient in assembling a custom made 3 day wine tour which included all the hot spots in the region. Please bear in mind that the three days were part of the long easter weekend, which adds to the complexity of the situation. The tour itself was remarkable. Pim Lentz, our host during the tour is an extraordinarily knowledgeble man who helped us discovering wine in all its dimensions. Pim was also great in pacing the visits and the outcome was an extremelly enjoyable three days of total dedication to one of our favourite topics - wine! I think it is safe to say that the priviledge of sharing three whole days with Pim allowed us to develop not only our knowledge about wine but also the way we sense it. Highly recommended for all sorts of wine lovers! Thank you Pim and Ligia for the wonderfull experience.

“Wine Desk, Look No Further”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 12, 2012

We recently booked a last minute trip with the Wine Desk. The Wine Desk guide, Jamie Greatorex met us at our hotel after we arrived from the Cape Town airport. We didn’t know how lucky we were to get Jamie. We explained to him that we just arrived from twenty hours of flying from the States and needed to freshen up. Jamie told us to take our time. Once the tour was under way Jamie asked us about our wine experience and preferences. Jamie then created a custom tour just for us using our preferences.

We visited, Thelema Vineyards and Jordan Vineyards; then went to lunch in Stellenbosch. After lunch we went to Tokara Winery and Meerlust Winery. The trip culminated in finding some wine that is not easily available in the United States. Jamie gave us a good tip, “Next time, request a pick up from the airport and then ask to be dropped off at your desired hotel.” Do yourself a favor and request a Wine Desk Tour with Jamie. Jamie is extremely knowledgeable in all aspects of wine and South Africa history; he will tailor the tour to your needs.
