“Great hotel - great location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 week ago NEW

Fab hotel with lovely staff in a great location. Not only is it in the centre of Cape Town, 3 minutes from green market and close to all restaurants and bars, it is also only a 15 minute walk to the V&A waterfront.

Rooms are great and the roof pool is an added bonus

Stayed in a premium apartment in the Towers annex.
Like the idea of a seperate entrance and elevators serving this area.
Apartment 1404 has 3 bedr and 2 bathr. Huge living area with balcony overlooking table mountain.
Equipped kitchen. Lovely beds and showers.
Nice views all around.
Check in was also quick.
Location cant be beat and perfect for a small family or friends for a stay.
Only reason i rate cleanliness as 3 is that the bin in the kitchen still had rubbish in it from previous guests.
Otherwise a lovely space.
Recommended.

We stayed in their two bedroom apartment for four nights last month. The location is just perfect. Walking distance to many restaurants and the night clubs. Bo kaap is quite close too. The green market is just behind the hotel so we got a bit of souvenir shopping done from there. The main attractions like the table mountain are just a short ride away. The facilities at the hotel are good too. We had a washer and a dryer in our apartment that was quite helpful. We would stay there again.

Stayed in a lovely 2 bedroom flat with a large living area, kitchen and patio overlooking table mountain for the price most average one bedroom hotels charge. Beautiful scenic accomodation in the prime Cbd area. The staff were very friendly and there are lots of good restaurants and markets surrounding the hotel. For anyone wanting to stay in the CBD, this hotel is a good choice!

I stayed in a two-bedroom room on the second floor. My view was on St Georges Mall, a pedestrian street with, during daytime hours, a kind of tourist market. The rooms are new, and all equipment was working well. The room had a living room, a fully-equipped kitchen area, washing and drying machines etc. It was much more than I had expected. Nice bathroom(s) as well!

The reception is located inside a sort of mall, which, at the time of my visit, was a windy place which was subject to the gale-forcee. It does not give a comfortable, cosy feeling, although staff certainly tries to be welcoming. It's not a 'lobby area' where it is pleasant to hang around and meet people.

I do not like the Internet arrangements: 200MB per day complimentary. I find that strange, certainly in South Africa. As a business traveller, I want Internet Access to be unlimited, and included in my room rate. I had to buy additional Internet time now. Not so good experience.

The Cape Town conference centre is a comfortable and pleasant walk from the hotel, while I visited in December, 1.2 km walk from the hotel.

The breakfast in the Doppio restaurant downstairs is good. Instead of the filter coffee (too weak for my taste), an espresso was brought to me free of charge. There is a selection of eggs (omelette, fried, etc). Good selection of fresh fruits. Fresh and tasty bread.

I tried the Doppio also during dinner hours. It was ok, but not great. Service was a bit dis-organized. Food was not spectacular, certainly in relation to its price (not cheap for CT).

Car parking service was OK at 55 Rand per night. I did not try the gym.

Would I stay here again? Maybe yes, if I would be with a group of several people, to enjoy the additional room and make use of the kitchen. If alone again, I would, next time, probably prefer one of the many well-run guest-houses around town, for example in Tamboerskloof.

Rented a 2 BR/2BA suite for 5 nights. It's obvious management does not closely monitor the rooms - for example the clothes dryer was broken day 1- the immediately brought up a new (old) one, set it in the middle of the kitchen, where it sat the rest of the stay.
Definitely some maintenance issues- ripped curtains, mold in the corners in the shower. But aside from that- great space..room to stretch out. Centrally located in the middle of the downtown area near lots of outdoor markets. Staff was very nice and accommodating. The internet is a little annoying with the restrictions on only 2 devices. I had my google auto backing up my photos the first day and used all the allowed bandwith.

Tip: use UBER instead of taxis. They are about half the price. A trip to the airport was 280R that the hotel arranged- and I took UBER back and it was 165R.

Ate in the restaurant twice- good food- service is slow. There is a great place across the street (only open till 6) that offers eggs/etc. for breakfast or a yogurt bar, fruit bar, big salad bars/prepared food for lunch if you are looking for something quick. Keep in mind Cape Town shuts down early - so do things earlier than usual!

So much to see and do...this hotel makes a great home base.

In every corner of society one is manipulated into what one deserves, what standard one is to live by. You only live once they say. I now know that you have not lived until you have experienced Mandela Rhodes Place. This experience has surpassed any and all expectations of any kind. Never in our lifetime was it to be considered that Cape Town would be such a beautiful conglomerate of buildings, which, when seen from above dances into the sunset light of brilliance. Being swept into a world where one’s imagination has no limit. Ambiance in the dry sky light, the view of the sunrise over the vast distance. It was an experience which will be treasured for our lifetime.
