“Thoroughly enjoyed every minute at twentytwo”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 26, 2013

My wife and I have been fortunate enough to do a lot of international travel and out of all of the places we have stayed, twentytwo is our favorite. Dominic and Allan are outstanding hosts, who immediately make you feel at home in their perfectly appointed B&B. These gentlemen went above and beyond in making our time in Cape Town exceptionally special. Whether it's the delicious breakfasts, the excellent restaurant recommendations, great ideas for activities/sightseeing, or even just helping with some logistics of your stay in Cape Town, Dominic and Allan are both always ready to make your stay at twentytwo even better than you thought possible.
Having never been to Cape Town before, we feel we really lucked out finding twentytwo. The location is excellent - a quiet neighborhood within walking distance of some good bars and restaurants and the legendary Mount Nelson hotel. The B&B itself has four guest rooms total on the upper floor, with a very comfortable living room/dining room in the lower level. There is a nice outdoor area with a pool in the back, which we unfortunately didn't use because the weather wasn't conducive to doing so. The bedrooms and bathrooms are large (which was good for us because we had a lot of luggage due to our 5-night stay in Cape Town being part of a much longer time in South Africa overall). The beds are extremely comfortable - possibly the best nights of sleep we have had in months! Also, our room had a beautiful view of Cape Town from the balcony.

All in all, twentytwo is definitely top-notch in our book and if we ever have the opportunity to return to Cape Town, we honestly would plan our travel dates around whenever there is availability at twentytwo.

If you want to feel at home in Cape Town this is your best choice. Allan and Dom will do everything in their hands to make your stay memorable. I have never experienced such a warm, kind, honest, human, funny, surreal, special, welcome in a hotel such as in 22. That happened from the first minute after crossing the doorstep and it lasted until the time I had to say goodbye to this gorgeous place and beautiful people. The rest is as great as their owners, including wonderfully decorated and equipped rooms, an awesome breakfast, great views, amazing service, and convenient location. The only thing I missed was sharing this great experience with my partner, and this is why we will be back together soon. No doubt, we won't stay anywhere else in Cape Town but in 22. Thank you Dom and Allan and see you again soon!

We have stayed here many times as a family with 1 and then 2 small kids and also my partner has stayed on his own for business. There is nowhere we would rather stay in CPT. Everything that can be done for you is done by Dom and Allan. They are not only a wealth of information but they will accommodate your needs as much as is humanly possible. As if that isn't enough, the rooms and general shared areas are beautifully decorated and luxurious to relax in. There is nothing you will 'want' for, the breakfasts are made for your own requests at a time to suit you and their willingness to oblige with check in/out times is the same. The location is perfect for sightseeing Table Mountain, the beach and the shops - definitely our favorite place in Cape Town and on the odd occasion twentytwo has been booked we have sadly had to stay elsewhere so we can really say that with confidence.

We stopped here for three nights in June and were well looked after by Dom and Allan. We arrived and were to depart at funny times of the day, but this was not a problem for our accomodating hosts. Notwithstanding that we had a full schedule of events for our weekend, they were both ready with suggestions for places to eat and see and the City Bowl location supports any trip in and around Cape Town.

We were in room 4, which was a good size, with views out to the Bay. It's nice and quiet, with a large walk in (/down) shower and a deck, which would be perfect for relaxing on a summery day.

Tea was served each morning ahead of breakfast, helping to wake us up to the day. A beautiful bowl of fruit lead breakfast, with museli and yoghurt to accompany. A hot option was available to follow, with my fiance selecting french toast on one of our mornings, but really you can make it on the fruit alone!

In summary, it's a great place to base yourself to enjoy Cape Town.

Don and Allen are incredible hosts that will make you feel at home. With great stories and excellent recommendations. The hotel will give a perfect view of Table Mountain. The rooms and bathrooms are confortable, the breakfast is marvelous, and in 10 min walk you're in the heart of town.
22 is definetly the best place to stay when in Cape Town.

Dom and Allen can't make you feel more confortable and at home in their B&B. The rooms are big with an enormous bathroom. Super clean. If you want to go to the beach, they'll provide you a beach bag with towels ! The breakfast and their yogurt are supreme. At walking distance from the major streets this B&B, is the best place to stay in Cape Town.

Staying at twentytwo is always a treat. Dominic and Allan are the perfect hosts. Whilst the rooms match superb luxury accommodation standards our visits are always most memorable because of the personal touch, and great conversations with our hosts. Watching the moods of Cape Town from the views of the guesthouse is really special as a visitor to this wonderful city.

Whether one's trip to Cape Town is for business of leisure, twentytwo is a truly fantastic spot to stay.
