A fantastic way to see the mountain and the surrounding areas. The trail is broken up into sections and some are tougher than others - like the hike up the back of Table Mountain but it is SO worth it.
Did a 3 day walking trail - absolutely amazing. Luxurious accommodation - you don't even carry your own bag - they cook for you and plenty surprises on top of Table Mountain. Book well in advance
This is an amazing 5 day trail. It's a tough hike +/- 75km and we recorded over 5km of climbing on our GPS (we walked from Cape Point to the Cable Car, though you can do it the other way). The views and fauna are spectacular from the cliffs of Cape Point and Chapmans Peak to the mist and trees of Orangekloof. The accomodation is well positioned and appointed. For some reason TMNP dont offer a porterage service so we used a local agent who delivered us to the start of the hike and transported our luggage each day. We are all from Cape Town so we didnt make use of the TMNP guides. The weather can be unpredicable (two of our days were in freezing mist or rain) so you need to be prepared. Dont forget to stop for cold draught beer at the pub at Constantia Nek. The accomodation at Slangkop is also close to the village so you can have a pint and a meal quite easily there as well.
The views are superb- nature abounds, sea views, indigenous plantlife and more. The guides are helpful and kind. The accommodation was clean, although the weather can make the tents quite chilly!
Stunning scenary, tough hike but all in the middle of Cape Town!
