My husband and I stayed in the poolside master bedroom. Was VERY spacious and peaceful. The location of the B&B is ideal -- out of the city center and Constantia is gorgeous -- but still close to lots of things you want to do (wine tasting...).

Summit Place is excellent value for money. The interiors are done simply (not the overstuffed english chintz) and you have everything you need. While the building has character (the pool and terrace is lovely!), all the bathrooms are modern, the lounge area is COMFY (we even stayed in one night and just watched a movie with some microwave popcorn :)

To top it off, Michael and Karen and awesome hosts. Chill, and not in your biz, but avail if you have a question or want to change your breakfast order. Speaking of which, breakfast was awesome.

I even forwarded their info to my husband's company so that they can contact them for their business traveler needs (they have wi-fi, too). hurrah. we were very happy to find Summit Place and will return again.

Our (hockey-) touring team (12 persons) stayed at Summit Place for 4 days in the beginning of may. And we really enjoyed the hospitality, the rooms and the sumptious breakfasts outdoors. Not to mention the very friendly staff!

This is a trully ideal place for touring teams up to 18/20 persons.
It is not too far from the airport, the city and V&A waterfront, and excellent for wining and dining and visits to the Cape Peninsula.

The Summit Place offers privacy but has also faciltilies to sit, dine and party together. Highly recommended!

Six of us stayed at Summit Place for two nights as we had a wedding nearby. The main reasons we chose Summit Place were proximity to the wedding venue, and price (great value).

The rooms are beautiful, modern, very spacious, spotlessly clean and with self catering facilities. Very comfy beds and great showers. Quiet at night. The owners are very friendly and helpful, and the staff make a great breakfast. The pool area and grounds are also really lovely, and have a residential, rather than hotel type feel. Good security with high walls etc For all those things I can't recommend it more highly.

The key decision maker as to whether it will suit you is location. Summit Place is in Constantia, a lovely upmarket suburb of Cape Town.

It's very easy to drive to from the airport. It's about a 20 min drive to central Cape Town/Waterfront so whether this suits depends on you, how you travel and what you're doing. It's also an easy drive out to Stellanbosch and the Garden Route.

If you're a family, group or couple with a car, who will drive around, and for whom personality/character/friendliness, quality and price is paramount, this place is for you. Kids have plenty of space to run around and you'll probably have the pool to yourself all day. You definitely need a car.

If you're a backpacker, or a single/couple without a car, it probably won't. If this is your first trip to Cape Town and you like to walk everywhere you'll be better off staying at the Waterfront or Green Point. A taxi from the Waterfront costs between 220-250ZAR.

My girlfriend and I stayed at Summit Place for 11 nights over the Christmas and New Years period, and thought it was very impressive.

After pulling through the gate and being greeted and shown around by Julie, we soon realised that we were exactly where we wanted to be in terms of location, convenience, service, style and friendliness.

The self catering apartment over-looking the garden and swimming pool,
was very large and had a very modern, warm African feel to it. The manageress, Julie, was absolutely brilliant, helping us with everything we needed and making us feel right at home and part of the family.

The modern facilities, such as wireless meant we could keep in touch with family member overseas during the Christmas Season, and we would definitely consider making Summit Place our permanent residence every time we returned to Cape Town.

A massive thumbs up to Julie and her staff for taking such good care of us, and we both look forward to staying with them again.
