We had high expectations for this B&B and they never proved wrong from the moment i entered this property...
The location is great, only 10 minutes from the main beaches, 5 minutes from V&A Waterfront and Downtown (distances by car). Its also close to the touristic bus stops, so if you don't want to drive a car in Cape Town go for it as they work until early evening or just grab a cab as public transportation in this city isn't really recommended for security and comfort reasons.
The place is in a secluded street that is just a little hard to find, but once you make it, you will never forget the way to get there (Try to use always High Level Road as the referrence point). So everything around is very clean, peaceful and very secure.
The interiors are truly amazing with an excellent taste of decoration, with a pool that looks almost like a Spa and it continues with the bedrooms and our Room 2 was so comfortable, cozy and warm... we never had problems sleeping!!
Then breakfast was quite complete starting always with a nice bowl of fresh fruits, cereals and yoghurt, followed by croissants, toasts, cheese, butter and a muffin... we were really full with so much stuff to eat! And the atmosphere for breakfast was very romantic with candlelights inside or in the nice esplanade outside.
Then Andrew was always available to assist in suggestions for sightseeing, restaurants, best places to relax and providing any information needed so he and Stefan were always very polite and available to help you out without hesitating. We can't also forget their beautiful dog, so cute!!
About the city and surroundings, i would like to highlight the following attractions:
1. V&A Waterfront: shops, restaurants, boat trips, animation, aquarium, craft markets and basically where all the action is!!
2. Green Point: Very nice Lighthouse, good nightlife and a great japanese restaurant (Wakami)
3. Camps Bay: Great beach scene with the 12 Apostle as a wonderful scenario behind, with some interesting restaurants and clubs
4. Table Mountain: a must go with beautiful views from around the city, Hout Bay, False Bay and even Cape Point!! And enjoy the ride quite similar to the Alps in the cableway!!
5. City Hall: beautiful classical style building with a nice square just in front of it.
6. Outside the city: Hout Bay, Noordhoek, Chapman's Peak Drive, Betty's Bay, Simon's Town, Cape National Park all with views to die for with excellent scenic drives... just go for it!!
7. Milnerton Beach & Lagoon for Sunset lovers with a tremendous view from Table Mountain and the Ocean.... only 10-15 minutes away from city centre
8. Robben Island for history lovers
9. Wine route to Franshoek or Stellenbosch if wine appreciators!
10. Garden Route if you have time until you get to Plettenberg bay (2-3 days) passing by Mossel Bay, George and Knysna.
The things i disliked most were just the fact the rooms only had shower and that we don't really have any great views, but everything inside makes up for that!! So i would definitely go back to this guesthouse, when i return to Cape Town! Great Work Andrew and Stefan, please keep on going! If any doubts subsist please see the pictures...
