“Great place to stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 18, 2012

Spent four nights at this lovely, friendly guest house in Cape Town. Its in the lovely quiet suburb of Tamboerskloof and is within easy reach of lovely restaurants and the sights of Cape Town. Our luxury room was tastefully decorated and very clean. Breakfast cooked to order and was good. Many thanks to Tomas and Meagan for your help and information.

We spent four nights at this lovely guest house in Cape Town. It is in a quiet residential area within reach of some good restaurants. The view of table mountain is also great. Tomas, the manager, is excellent and will provide you with plenty of information on things to do and places to eat. Breakfast is plentiful and cooked to order, you will not go hungry.

It is at the top of a very steep hill and is a considerable walk (about an hour) back from the centre of town, however I would still prefer to stay here than near the V&A Waterfront in the centre. The pool wasn't quite as good as it looks on the website although it may be more appealing in the warmer weather.

We (family with 2 children age 8 and 11) stayed 5 nights at this Guest House. It's a really good place to stay in Cape Town! Tamboerskloof is close to the City Center, the surrounding is quiet and peacefull and the view of Table Mountain is great. We felt like at home and appreciated the friendly and helpfull staff.

An oasis of calm in the cape town hustle and bustle. Comfortable large bedroom with walk in wardrobe and powerful shower. Breakfast served with a smile and plenty of it and made to order. Tomas the manager was a brilliant source of information. His directions and food recommendations were superb. We walked to the waterfront from the guest house although it was recommended we take a taxi. We suffered no harm and got some exercise! If you do use taxis the guest house will book for you but take a map for the return as a lot of taxis drivers did not know where it was so we had to direct them. Great deli close by if you fancy a latte and a cake literally round the corner. Ask Tomas!!

Room Tip: Our room no 6 was on the ground floor along from the dining area and open plan kitchen. There was a...

My wife and I had the pleasure of spending two nights in this gem of guest house. The room we had was equipped with all you could wish for and was spotless with pristine linen.
I have to make special mention of Thomas and Deanne who were both extremely helpful with directions and advice on good restaurants in the area. The ladies who prepared an excellent breakfast each morning did so with a smile. We shall certainly return to 1 on Queens!

On arrival we had a warm welcome on a very cold day! The room was stunning with a nice view, when we came back from dinner our room was "turn down" with a chocolate on the bed-what a lovely thouch..... The guesthouse is situated in a peacefull and quiet area, allthough you are only a few minutes away from the city!! We had breakfast the next morning. Staff are very friendly and helpfull. We'll be back!
