“Excellent small hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 23, 2013

We stayed at Blackheath Lodge for two nights. The people at reception were very helpful and provided great advice on how to get around, where to visit and also recommended some great restaraunts. The breakfast at the hotel was also fantastic with plenty of choice. The rooms were also very comfortable and clean.

Superb accommodation with great character. Antony and his team are exceptional - genuinely friendly and they couldn't be more helpful. All of the 'excellent' reviews are thoroughly deserved. You don't need to look anywhere else to stay in Cape Town - Blackheath Lodge is perfect! They really do whatever it takes to make your holiday memorable.

I am a female, solo traveler - so lodging is particularly important to me. This place is like home away from home. The accommodations are incredible. I stayed in the Loft - fantastic! Antony, Charle, Godfrey, and Jean Claude all are quite the crew. They work tirelessly to ensure that all of you're needs are being met. I met several other guests who stay here on a regular basis. What does that tell you? The place is beautiful and extremely well kept. The food that they offer is of great quality, and served beautifully. I felt safe, well cared for, and very special indeed. I ordered in my evening meal most nights, and someone would invariably set up a lovely table setting for me. I highly recommend this B & B, and will definitely stay here again when back in beautiful South Africa. To all the staff, thanks for my memories of a lifetime!

Room Tip: The Loft - which would be like the honeymoon suite? A spiral staircase of 19 stairs, but no worries...

My wife and I came down from Johannesburg for a long weekend and to participate in the Color Run. The service was impeccable from the moment we arrived, we came in late and our room had been turned down and everything you could need was provided. Breakfast was wonderful and again the attention to detail displayed by the staff is rare to find today. The room was beautifully appointed with small touches and everything provided for. Dinner reservations were handled and their recommendations could not have been better. Anthony and his team Godfrey, Jean Claude and the rest of the Staff are phenomenal. We were just a few blocks from the promenade and the site of the race, after the race the staff made sure we had breakfast even serving late to make sure we were taken care of afterwards. If your looking for personal touches, world class service, and attention to detail here is your place. Thank you Blackheath.

Our party of six have recently returned from a two week stay at Blackheath Lodge. Anthony, Charlie, Godfrey and all the staff went out of their way to make our experience of Cape Town memorable. Although this property is listed as a Bed and Breakfast, the first class service and interest the staff take in their guests far surpasses any Hotel we have previously stayed in. Sightseeing trips were recommended and organised by Anthony and Charlie, together with suggestions for a variety of superb restaurants within Cape Town and along the coast. The bedrooms and en-suites were all furbished to a high standard. We made full use of the bar area, offering in particular a fabulous cheeky South African red wine! Breakfast was a delight and so were the lovely kitchen ladies and night staff. Highly recommended and thanks to everyone at Blackheath Lodge for a wonderful stay.

Blackheath Lodge is the perfect home away from home in Cape Town. As a first time, solo visitor to South Africa, Antony and the entire staff were incredibly welcoming, helpful, and engaging. The rooms are very comfortable and well appointed, and I loved the long, spacious bathrooms and great water pressure in the shower. Breakfast was first rate, flawless food and service. I definitely took advantage of the pool as well, which is a wonderful treat, surrounded by trees and shrubbery, so even though it's in the courtyard it still feels private.
Sea Point is a great neighborhood to stay in: easy to walk along the promenade to the Waterfront, and I even walked to Camps Bay (although wear comfortable shoes).
In short, I very much hope to return to South Africa again, and I would not want to stay anywhere else in Cape Town!

This was a great little place within 3 blocks of the beautiful sandy beach of cape Town. We had great rooms as well as a nice common area for our family to gather in. A wonderful breakfast was served each morning. The rooms were outfitted with a heating system controlled by remote which was new to me and very nice. Of particular note is the lodge's manager, Charle', who went above and beyond to give us helpful tips for getting around Cape Town on foot. This was the first place we stayed upon reaching South Africa and was a nice friendly introduction to the country. The photo shows the private pool located in the center of the lodge and charming little bird houses situated at different levels of the wall
