“A great base from which to explore Cape Town”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 25, 2012

Awesome rooms, great breakfast (no lunch or dinner available), fantastically helpful and friendly staff. As we read in earlier Trip Advisor reviews, Anthony is always there to help. We highly recommend renting their Mini convertible for a day trip to Cape Point. We also recommend taking the Red Bus to explore Cape Town.

Room Tip: If staying in the loft, ask the staff to explain the surprisingly complicated lighting controls.

Not so much a B&B as a boutique hotel without a restaurant, Blackheath Lodge is superb. The attention to detail, care and love lavished on the property and guests make this a truly great place to stay. We will definitely go back, and recommend BHL to everyone we know who might ever think of going to Cape Town.

Wonderful.

I can't say enough good things about my stay at Blackheath Lodge. It was very comfortable and the staff is absolutely fantastic! They were happy to assist with taxis, restaurant recommendations, and a welcoming drink. Highly recommended and did not disappoint! I was sorry to leave.

We stayed only 2 days, but it was so great and fascinating time for us.
Antony and his members were all so kind and heart-warming, and we took a commemorative photo and also sent us it with nice comments after coming back to my country.
We really enjoyed and being moved. We are looking forward to going back soon.

First off all thank you to all off you (Antony, Michell, Jean-Claude....) you have make our stay in Cape Town wonderful again (this is the second time we stayed at Blackheat Lodge).
The warmness, hospitality, you feel at Blackheat is outstanding. And we agrees with some others that Blackheat went beyond our expectations and absolutely nothing was too much trouble when it comes to restaurant recommendations, how to drive to a place, bookings and time to chat. The lodge is lovely with a calm oasis in the middle where the pool is located, and you have a wonderful view over that from the breakfast balcony. The room is tasteful furnished and the beds are very comfortable and some of them has a wonderful view over the Atlantic Ocean. Thank you again for your hospitality and warmness and we will definitely stay at Blackheat Lodge next time we visit Cape Town.

Room Tip: Take rooms with Oceanview

Thank you to all the team at Blackheath Lodge - Antony, Michelle, Jean-Claude and the others, I had the most wonderful stay in Cape Town. Blackheath went beyond my expectations and absolutely nothing was too much trouble from a pot of tea by the pool, restaurant recommendations, directions, bookings and a time to chat. The Lodge was a lovely combination of old Victorian charm and proportions, modern comfort and SA design quirkiness with a calm oasis in the middle where the swimming pool was located. The breakfasts were delicious with a great selection to accommodate all tastes. There was attention to detail at every level right down to the monogrammed beach bags and towels and the number plate on the mini convertible, that you could hire by the day! Thank you again, I will definitely be back next time I am in Cape Town.
