We spent some time researching our trip to SA, and it certainly paid off. This is an excellent choice for Cape Town: a good location, charming staff (many thanks to Anine for looking after us so well during our 4 night stay), and rooms full of character. I would certainly recommend Welgelegen and would return here again.

We travelled through SA for 3 weeks, stayed in many guesthouses and had not one bad experience. What makes Welgelegen special and different from the rest are the many small details : welcome letter, hot water bottles, a glass of port in the afternoon etc. Also, the staff is very friendly and helpful. The location is excellent, with the center of the city within walking distance and a great view on table mountain. We really had a good feeling staying at Welgelegen.

We just got back from our honeymoon in South Africa and loved Welgelegen Guest House.

The guest house is located well and makes it easy to reach all tourist places and many restaurants easily. It is very clean and cozy and the staff is very helpful and friendly. Breakfast is plenty and very yummy. At night, guests were offered complementary port wine and sherry.

The rooms are all decorated differently and the owner has a great eye for detail. We loved the hot water bottles in bed at night. The little chocolates we had every night on our pillow were a very nice touch as well.

When we travel back to Cape Town, we will surely stay at Welgelegen again. We can recommend this place to everyone headed to Cape Town.

We stayed her for 4 nights and it was a great location for exploring the city. we could see Table Mountain and Signal Hill from the hotel. The room was very comfortable and the bath was large with a great shower. Breakfast was included with a cold buffet and hot breakfast if desired. Hot water bottles and chocolates include in our turn down service each night. The staff were attentive and very helpful. We found many good restaurants within easy walking distance which we did each night. We would stay here again.
