“excellent choice”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 20, 2009

Stayed here for 5 days (and also at 3 other guest houses in Cape Town) in Feb'09. It was my second visit here, and would return for sure. Pros: the house itself, sundeck and pool, nice mix of fellow travelers here, the beautiful location, the neighborhood and the location. Cons: None really to speak of -- this area is quite quiet at night and not many shops/restaurants right nearby, but its a reasonable walk or cab ride to more commercial areas. Location is in fact not as remote as it seems, and proximity to Kloof is a big plus.
Late breakfast is REALLY appreciated when you are on vacation too!

Very nice guesthouse with beautiful rooms, everything was very clean, Internet wifi worked well in our room. Big pool with sunterrace and very friendly staff. Breakfast was great, you could have anything you want......We stayed for 6 days in January and we would love to go back there the next time in Capetown. Not expensive for what you get in the city of Capetown.

We would like to thank the staff for our fantastic stay in your guesthouse! We had a great time there!!!!!

Rooms are large, well lighted, well furnished, with ample bathrooms (with shower, no tub at least in my case). Magnificent views over the city or toward Table Mountain. Steam room, sauna, pool and clothing optional sun deck are great, and there are nice (textile) balconies overlooking the city as well.. The "public" rooms -- a sitting room and a dining room/bar beneath it -- are big and efficient. Perhaps most important of all, the owner and his staff are friendly and welcoming. Breakfasts are first-class, with lots of choice, and there is a well stocked "maxi"-bar with prices equivalent to a bottle store, with well-selected wines and beer. There is a first-class cafe/trattoria/Italian grocery a block away. Parking is easy and the neighborhood is safe -- a significant consideration, unfortunately, in Cape Town -- though I would not leave valuables in a car in sight in this, or any other, city. It's beyond reasonable walking distance to the center of the city, but cabs are inexpensive and parking downtown is difficult anyway. The rates are very reasonable.

  • Liked — Freindly staff
  • Tips/Secrets — Well, it's men only -- no exceptions.
