African Villas provided us with the best start to our time in South Africa. Sitting down over coffee upon arrival with the owner as he talked through the city, the best restaurants and little titbits of local knowledge was truly relaxing. Thank god for the photo directions too!

I agree with all previous comments. if you're thinking of visiting Cape Town then this is the place to stay. Beautiful venue, great food, welcoming and friendly owners and staff. Great ideas such as free internet, helpful phonecards, free dial numbers, honesty bar and variations each day at breakfast make An African Villa wonderful. If one thing stood out for me it was how great Louis, Jimmy and their colleagues were in helping us out with any part of our holidays - something you don't get from large hotels. I can't find fault (and this is something I usually excel in!)
Thanks everyone for a lovely trip - one that we shall always remember fondly.

We stayed at An African Villafor the first five nights of our honeymoon in Oct 2006 and I cannot recommend it enough. I travel a lot and it's one of the most relaxing places I've ever stayed. The key is the attention to detail – from the fabulous decor to Louis and Jimmy's consistently excellent restaurant recommendations and advice. Our room was beautiful with incredible views to Table Mountain and the lounge, library and outdoor areas the perfect places for a pre- or post-prandial drink. Staff couldn't have been more friendly or helpful and the breakfasts are hard to beat. A fantastic experience in every respect.

This is a luxary youth hostel for grown-ups. Facilities include free phone calls to local restauants, a library, internet access, complimentary port and best of all an honesty fridge in the kitchen.
Gorgeous breakfasts- full english, pancakes, aswell as a continental buffet with meats and cheeses.

Loves the relaxed vibe, the friendly service, and the FANTASTIC rooms with the most comfortable beds in the world!

Close to everything and round the corner from the famous Mount nelson.

My wife and I completed a 27 day cruise recently , disembarking in Cape Town. I had found An African Villa on the Web, and booked directly. We had a most enjoyable stay with Louis and Jimmy and their excellent staff. This is a B and B above and beyond what you might normally expect. I recommend it wholeheartedly.
