It may be unfair saying Americanisation, as this place reminds me of many shopping districts around the world, but I guess they appeared in America first. I'm reminded of harbour fronts in New York, San Francisco and Boston to name three.
Its a safe place to visit and its fine for shoppers and those looking for a reasonable meal, but I was bored after an hour and wanted to see a bit more of the real South Africa.
You can buy the same artefacts much cheaper elsewhere and there are many restaurants that serve more interesting food at cheaper prices (Heritage Square for example).
Worth a visit, maybe even a (very) short stay, but there is so much more to see in and around Cape Town.
