Owner description: The Two Oceans Aquarium is a window into the spectacular oceans surrounding the southern African coast. Through displays ranging from the small and almost fantastical Knysna seahorses, to large ragged-tooth sharks, the Aquarium holds wondrous discoveries around every corner. Be mesmerised by the swaying of the giant kelp in the aptly named Ocean Basket Kelp Forest Exhibit- one of only a handful living kelp forest displays in the world. Or come face-to-face with giant spider grabs and have an adventurous tactile experience at the Touch Pool. Be sure to visit the I&J Predator Exhibit, with its 11m long window, to view large ragged tooth sharks and shoals of silvery fish. Qualified divers can also make use of the opportunity to dive with the sharks in the I&J Predator Exhibit and the shimmering fish in the Ocean Basket Kelp Forest Exhibit.

“A fun day out for young and old”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 2, 2013

My husband and I spent a Saturday morning at the Two Oceans Aquarium and it was really great! From beginning to end we were entertained and educated. The displays are masterfully put together and some are truly astonishing ... those huge crabs ...The only thing that was a bit annoying was all the push prams. Of course it's to be expected that a place like this will be FULL of little children (be warned, if this is a problem for you!), but the prams take up a lot of space and sometimes you've got to squeeze through to a display area. Nothing aggressive though. Just a bit cramped, but again, to be expected on a Saturday morning.
If you've got little children, this is THE place to take them. Many of the displays are geared toward children - they've even got a play/craft area and a puppet show, which was very cute.

All in all, a fabulous, fascinating, entertaining morning - we got AMAZING photos here.

“Nothing fishy about this place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 1, 2013

Although the aquarium looks quite small from the outside, they do have lots of things to see and do inside. The "predator" tank is especially mesmerizing. You'll find that you can sit and watch the fish, sharks, rays and turtle swimming past for a long time before getting bored.
Check out the frogs, the penguins and several other informative and well-organized display areas, too.
There's something here for the children in us all - Enjoy it.
Plus, as it is situated in the waterfront area, there are also plenty of places nearby to eat, shop or generally browse away your time.

“A choice for rainy days”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 28, 2013

It's an okay tour to do, but Cape Town offers so many beautiful natural scenaries, that I would only chose to go to the aquarium if it were rainning or with kids. The place is packed with kids, they seemed to enjoy it a lot. The place is nice, clean, entertaining and a good value.
