“Beautiful Beach”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 9, 2013

Wow, what a beautiful beach ! I have been to Cape Town several times before, but never made it to Muizenberg (or just "passed by"), what a mistake.

I took the train down to Muizenberg, its not very fast (as it stops every 500m or so), but a great & cheap way to travel. The beach is long and wide, the sand very soft, the water fresh, and mostly for surfers and "beach walkers" (and not so much for swimming). Also, the colorful beach huts. The walk to St. James (about 20 minutes) is also very nice.

“Muisenberg and Flea Market”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 27, 2013

Wonderful drive out to visit Muizenberg, on most Satrudays to the left of the painted beach huts they got a flea market where you can browse and walk back to Muizenberg on the beach. The train trip from Muizenberg to Simonstown are great, on the sea edge....

“Great for surfing, learning to surf and body surfing.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 27, 2013

If it is windy, don't bother going. On a calm day, go early, as the wind may come up later. The sand is white and the water is warmer than on the Atlantic side of Cape Town. Don't leave your possessions unattended. Great waves for surfing, body boarding and body surfing. There have been shark attacks in the past. They now have professional shark spotters who use a coloured flag system to advise people of the conditions. We have been there many times, and it is our favourite beach if it is not windy. There are a few surf shops across from the parking lot where one can book surfing lessons.

“Softest sand”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 26, 2013 via mobile

The sand was the first thing I noticed as I stepped foot there. It was so soft. And then the water was noticeable warmer even tho we went on a windy day. And it does get windy. Will definitely be back. Playground by the restaurants with surf lessons and rentals. And waterside for the little kids at the end by the sand dunes. And putting golf also.

“Muizenberg”

Great beach, popular for surfers. I enjoyed the walk through town, viewing the architecture of the many old buildings. Stunning clock tower at the station building.
