“Quite a nice hotel”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed December 27, 2011 via mobile

I was originally given a tiny room and I complained and they put me in a much larger room, that was comfortable and pleasant.
The surrounding area is quiet and quiet near too the night life district. Approximately a 7 minute walk
The atmosphere in the hotel was slightly eerie,of course that is my subjective perception and could have no relevance to the hotel but reception were polite enough.
Anyway, hotel was comfortable enough and I remember their club sandwiches being great. Plus the cookies that the cleaner ladies left in the room each day.

Stayed at the Townhouse for two nights in November and the staff was friendly and very helpful. It was just me so I stayed in the small rooms they have and it is true when they say these rooms are only appropriate for a one or two night stay. They are really small but well done, modern and clean. It was also a quiet hotel. It was in a great location. Only a 10 minute walk to Green market square and the tourist office. Also really close to Long street where there are tons of restaurants. I highly recommend it.

Room Tip: Choose the small rooms only for one night or two night. If your traveling with someone else, I recom...

After reading reviews on trip advisor, I decided to book this 4 star hotel at a 2 star price offering. The location was terribly convenient to key tourist attractions, within 10-15 minute walking distance to many such sites or a 35 rand (US$5) taxi ride to the waterfront. At night-time, i would suggest not walking around the area but daytime is perfectly safe. I can not compliment the staff enough who provided 5 star service, each and everyone. The breakfast was fine although if you want eggs, you need to spend about US$2 to have that. Even the dinners in the hotel were well-priced and the food was good. The accommodation itself was generous in space and excellent quality. I would have no hesitation in recommending the Townhouse to people seeking outstanding quality in accommodation and service. if on a budget, keep your eye opened for excelent deals on the Townhouse as I found an unbeatable bargain online.

This hotel is nestled in the heart of Cape Town. We had a beautiful view of Table Mountain from our hotel and the room itself was clean and tidy with pleasant furnishing and good sun blocking curtains. Breakfast is served in a pleasant dining area, where you are given a choice between a hot meal or the buffet.

My main complaint is the parking. The allocated parking bays in the building are seven floors up, and require long circular sweeps of each floor to get in or out. We were also given two single beds placed together instead of a double - but this probably could of been changed if we had brought it to their attention.

I have been staying at the Towhouse Hotel for 3 nights in August 2011.
General impression is very positive, because the Hotel is clean and the
Staff is friendly and cooperative. If anyone requires safe environment,
this is the ideal Place, as the Hotel is located close to Police Headquarter
in Capetown. Furthermore, if anyone is interested, as I was, the walking
time distance to Railway and main Bus Stations is covered in just 10 minutes.
If I return to Capetown, I will book again.

Room Tip: Rooms on the north side are quiter

The Hotel is is nestled in the middle of Cape Town CBD, not the ideal location but within close walking distance to the local Markets, The Castle and the St Georges Cathedral. Service is good as staff attend to your every need, and fast. The room I stayed in was one of the more fancy rooms, than the standard room. The room was big with a open plan Bath tub and basin forming part of the room and a separate shower and toilet. The room was very modern and elegantly furnished, quality of furnishing could be improved thou. The Trees restaurant has a great breakfast buffet and their pork belly was a winner with dinner! Will definitely stay there again.

Room Tip: Rooms one the 1st floor has a balcony.

My boyfriend and I stayed at the Townhouse Hotel for 4 nights in October 2011. It is not a 5-star luxury hotel, but the rooms were very nice, clean, and modern. The front desk staff was friendly and helpful and the breakfast was delicious. Like others have said, the hotel was walking distance to the District Six museum and Long Street. We felt comfortable enough walking to Long Street in the evening but would usually take a cab back to the hotel later at night. The hotel was also near a hop on/off bus stop. Because the hotel is in a business district, the area around the hotel was a little dead on the weekends. But that was OK with us. We had a car the first night we were there and had to pay a small fee to park in their garage. Overall, the hotel was great and we would stay here again.
