My wife and I stayed here for 1 night after flying from Amsterdam to Capetown. We arrived at the hotel at after 10pm.
The superior room was roomy , with a fine balcony, and a living area.
The staff were pleasant, and the breakfast next morning was excellent.
It is well placed and has safe and secure parking. I would walk to the Waterfront ( 5 mins ) by day , but probably not after dark.
The only 2 negative points - I seem to remember the carpet in my room from 8 years ago - it is an unpleasant colour and looks like it needs to be changed.
The outside infinity pool looks great , but is used by the local seagulls as a resource. Given the hygiene of these birds , I would not suggest swimming in this pool.
The hotel is fine for a night or two , but not much longer.

“a good safe option”

We had a very pleasant 4 night stay here and would certainly recommend it.

We stayed in a business class room which was very large and had a bedroom area which could be partitioned off, handy for separating us from our daughter who slept on the comfortable sofa bed. The bathroom was large and well appointed and there was a lovely balcony with uninterupted views over the sea.

We have visited Cape Town several times before and chose this hotel due to its proximity to the Waterfront. However we were slightly disappointed by its location which was a good 15 minute walk from the Waterfront. The hotel lacks the charm of other Cape Town hotels we have stayed in but it suited us fine for this brief stay and certainly has much to recomend it.

We stayed at the Radisson from 6th to 12th October. Most of the people staying at the hotel during this time were business people which made for a lovely quiet stay. We upgraded to a business class room upon arrival which although on a low floor was a beautiful room with separate lounge area and views over the marina and ocean. We found the majority of hotel staff excellent and very welcoming, especially the breakfast girls. I celebrated my birthday whilst there and received a chocolate cake and several of the staff throughout the day congratulated me. The hotel is about a 15 minute walk down to the V&A waterfront – the walk is not scenic and the hotel run a shuttle service which departs on the hour from the hotel. TIP: The shuttle bus driver will tell you they pick up at quarter past the hour from the V&A, however we found that on most occasions they arrive at about 5 past the hour and if there are enough people to fill the bus, they will leave then and not come back! So I would advise you to be at the pickup point on the hour too. We would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending or returning to this hotel. The breakfast buffets were superb – drink prices were reasonable for a 4 star hotel and although we only ate dinner in the hotel on a couple of occasions it was very nice.

Date: 1st September to 4th September 2007

We arrived at the hotel for three nights and we were greeted by the Guest Liaison who congratulated us on this year being our 40th Wedding Anniversary year. I had previously enquired (by e-mail) regarding an upgrade to a sea-view room, but when we arrived, the reception staff told that we had already been given a sea-view room. After booking in, we were informed that our room was not quite ready and would we like to go to the bar. We sat in the bar and ordered a drink each and was kindly informed by the Bar Manager that the drinks were on him (the hotel). When we got to our room, which was very nice, we had only been in the room for about five minutes when there was a knock at the door, and we were presented with a bottle of champagne, chocolates and a greeting card from the hotel management for us to celebrate with. We had our first evening meal at the hotel at a table reserved for us. The table was decorated with petals scattered in the shape of the number ‘40’, and we were totally spoilt for the rest of the evening by the service given. Thanks mainly to Paulina in the restaurant. With respect to the quantity and quality of the food prepared in the hotel besides the evening meal that we sampled, we also found the al-fresco breakfasts were plentiful in choice and quantity and well prepared.

Whilst we were staying there, we had a trip booked to go round the Cape Peninsula, This trip had been arranged prior to leaving UK and for which we had arranged a car and driver to take us around following an itinerary which we and the guide (Selwyn) had drawn up together. Unfortunately the driver/guide rang in the evening (day before) to say he had the flu and could not make it. We went to the hotel reception and enquired if they could help us, and Paul, the duty concierge, said he would see what he could do. Paul informed us later in the evening, about 9 pm, that unfortunately he had been unable find a hotel driver, but had managed to outsource the trip with a reliable external agency. We could not thank Paul and the hotel staff enough for the manner in which they conducted themselves, and we had a great day out around Cape Point and the peninsula.

We would recommend this hotel, and also state that it is worth mentioning that if you are celebrating something special, let the hotel know as the hotel prides itself in satisfying their customers wishes. We also found the staff very friendly, helpful and they couldn’t do enough for us. If, and when we are able to return to Cape Town, we will definitely be staying in this hotel again.

“Pleasant stay”

Our travel agent booked us for a four night stay in a 'Mountain View Room". We got a small room on the second floor, with a good view of the sea. It was pleasant and quiet.

The breakfasts were very good, as was the buffet at night. The staff was helpful and amiable. The hourly shuttle to the V&A Mall was helpful.
