“Wonderful Location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 2, 2013

We spent six nights at the Inn on the Square in Cape Town at the end of a month long trip to several countries in southern Africa. We were very happy with the location of this hotel. The rooms and bathrooms are fairly small, but they are nicely decorated and have tea and coffee making in the room. We did not always get enough towels nor a face cloth consistently, but if we found a housekeeper on the floor or called the front desk, they would immediately solve the problem. The morning breakfast was excellent. There was water and iced tea out for guests during the day and in the early evening there was complimentary wine in the lobby. We had very good internet access, but you may need to ask the front desk for a new password every couple of days. We walked everywhere, even down to the waterfront, and it was just a block away from the pedestrian shopping area. Of course, the local market was right out the front door. We would stay here again.

Room Tip: Be sure to ask for a room on the side of the hotel and up higher as those in the front will hear the...

We stayed at the hotel last week for 4 nights when we were in town for a wedding. The location was great, with a market right in front of the hotel. The staff were happy to call us taxis during our stay and the trip out to Stellenbosch (where the wedding was) was easy enough.
There are a number of cafes, restaurants and bars in the area (be careful at night) and a lovely garden to explore about 5 minutes away. The walk to the waterfront is about 20 minutes and very straight forward.

The highlight of this place though was Trevor, our shuttle driver between the hotel and the airport. He picked us up from the airport and drove us back a few days later. I was feeling unwell that day and made a mad dash inside upon arrival, leaving the bags with my partner. I returned to find that my handbag with our wallets, phones, kindle, iPods and watches was still in the back of the now departed shuttle. After a panicked call to the hotel to contact Trevor, he reappeared 20 minutes later with my handbag exactly as I left it. Trevor-you're a star. Thanks so much for saving the day.

This hotel had spacious, modern, well appointed rooms and is in a great location for exploring Cape Town. It has a small pool on the top floor which is good for relaxing after a long day of exploring and they also have valet parking for an extra charge. Another great feature is the restaurant overlooking the tourist market in Green Market Square.

This hotel is great value for money for a central Cape Town break in comfort and style. Our flight arrived at 7am on the day of our booking and staff were incredibly helpful in making our room available at 11am for check in and that post flight snooze! The room was lovely with plenty of room and beautiful views of the mountain and market square. The terrace pool is lovely for a quick dip after a hot day exploring the glorious Cape Town. We ate out though as found breakfast a bit over priced and you are spoilt for choice for nearby restaurants. Wifi was poor but with the voucher it was fine and a problem with our key and then safe was rectified straight away. The bathroom is a little snug but frankly, what we paid to stay here, we were delighted with the facilities and service. It was a pleasure, or should I say 'plisure' to stay here for our city break

Room Tip: The 6th floor facing the square and mountain have great views and is lovely to watch the market and...

This hotel is conveniently located being central and based on Greenmarket Square which houses an array of stalls selling all sorts of African merchandise. It is a thriving market surrounded on its perimeter with many cafes' and other eateries to tempt all appetites. The hotel is smart, comfortable and boasts a small gym, plunge pool and deck area on the 8th floor terrace. This overlooks the Lions Head. Spectacular on a good clear day. The restaurant is competitively priced and the food we found to be excellent both in quality and quantity. The buffet is a must at 155 rand. (About £11).Rooms are comfortable with big beds and ample space for luggage etc. We stayed as part of a 3 week Garden Route trip and would have no hesitation in recommending it. 3 night board only £140. Can't be bad. Ask for a front aspect room and watch Cape Town wake up and work. Great.

Room Tip: Get a room overlooking the square if possible.

Wow where to begin?
Inn On The Square is such a beautiful upmarket hotel with warm friendly staff. They are alway there to assist with a smile and the food is to die for. What a great team!!! I cant find anything to criticize about it. Amazing view of Table Mountain from the really spacious bedroom and lovely pool deck on the roof of the hotel or relax in the cigar lounge and watch the game. Safe to walk around the area and everything is at your fingertips.
We had such an amazing time and we hope to see you again soon!

We had a nice two day stay at the hotel. The staff was very friendly and helpful.
The location of the hotel was excellent as it is right on green market square and next to Long street where there is something for everyone when it comes to night life.

The hotel has a very small swimming pool on the roof top with a few sun beds, maybe not ideal for someone who is planning to enjoy the sun the whole day, but it is still a great place to soak up some sun after a long day outside before leaving off for the evening.

The hotel provides a breakfast buffet, however it is at an extra charge to the room. Wifi is also available, but only for 30 minutes for free.

Room Tip: If you get a room facing the market, it is fun to watch the market being set up in the morning and r...
