“Doing renovations stay clear”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed May 10, 2013 via mobile

Its so ordinary as its like any other big hotel. Yes the rooms are big but few of them look to the sea. If you examine many of the photos before the long range view of the sea you effectively looking over a car park. They doing major renovations so I'd stay clear until they are done. I asked for a view of something other than the car park after seeing my room you would have thought I asked for a free night in the presidential suit. Others may like the sumptuous type of vibe but it's like every other hotel with low level front of house staff . I was so sorry I had to leave the mount nelson to come here.

The Table Bay Hotel , right on the best water front location in Cape Town, is the perfect Hotel , location wise, service and breakfast wise. Try to request for the odd room numbers to view the Table Bay Mountain scenery early mornings. We spent a total of 5 nights in this hotel and we would be lying if we had to say there was anything negative about it. It is the perfect holiday hotel stay we ever had and we would definetly recommend it to everyone .

Room Tip: Go for the higher floors odd room number request . You wouldn't be disappointed .

I spent 5 nights at the Table Bay hotel and was impressed from the moment I arrived. The hotel has a grand feel to it, very impressive lobby. My room on level 6 had great views of the Atlantic and I loved that I could open the windows and get fresh air. The bed was incredibly comfortable and bathroom has a fabulous tub for soaking. The Molton Brown toiletries were so good that I'll be buying them. Breakfast buffet was amazingly good and I recommend the omelette with chilli. Other meals were average. The day spa offers a full range of services and I had a fabulous massage and facial.
Would definitely return!

My friends and I indulged in a very grand afternoon tea at this hotel. You can even have champagne with your afternoon tea, for a higher price (which is good value considering all there is to eat!). Choose to sit inside on the comfortable chairs, sofas or outside to enjoy the great view of Table Mountain and the waterfront. They are a little more expensive than Cape Grace Hotel afternoon tea but it's worth it. The pots and the tea cups and saucers leave you feeling like royalty, not to mention the étagère (sort of tier-cake stands). They also have live music like classical piano. Very lovely and very English. They do not have clotted cream (the real kind) but then nowhere in Cape Town have I experienced real clotted cream like I had in England and Dubai.

The Table Bay is a special hotel and the staff provide 5* service the whole time you are there. However, the best thing about this hotel is the breakfast - any dish you could possibly imagine and the best pancakes I've ever had.

The rooms were big and the bathroom was really nice, very spacious.

The concierge service was also exceptional, they made a great recommendation for a restaurant we would never have found and turned out to be the best meal of the holiday.

We could not fault this hotel. The staff were wonderful from the moment we arrived. The location was perfect and conveniently connected to the shopping centre. There was a wide choice on the breakfast menu and the afternoon tea was very nice. Our room had a view of the mountain and was very nicely maintained. It is very easy to walk along the waterfront, to the ferry station and also to the helicopter excursions. Would definitely recommend a tour to the Winelands - this was a very good excursion. We would love to go back and would recommend this hotel.

We were treated very well upon arrival. The room was fantastic with great views across the harbour to Table Mountain. We were on the 6th floor. I have never seen such a selection at breakfast and the services of the concierge were most welcome in organising taxis and advising us on restaurants which served local dishes, such as Springbok and Ostrich. We felt secure here at the V & A Waterfront and will definitely stay here again when I visit Cape Town.
